From the man who was most likely to give Khabib problems and potentially beat him...

Who knows. Tony's problems really came on the feet and lets face it Khabib isn't exactly Ernesto Hoost 2.0

Yea I mean everyone has a chance. It's mma. We seen some crazy upsets but Tony fans acting like khabib is lucky they never fought are out of their mind.

IDC about what anyone has to say about who would win what

FUCK the UFC for jerking Tony around so hard on his legit Title shot
Did they really jerk him around though? The UFC legitimately tried to make Khabib v Tony, and they gave Tony an interim belt, he just had a combination of bad luck and poor timing get in the way. Keep in mind that Khabib ragdolled RDA in 2014 only to see RDA get the belt 6 months later, Khabib didn't get a crack at the title for 4 years after the point he should’ve been champ due to injuries and bad luck. That shit happens in mma. Tony getting “screwed” by the UFC is the most overplayed and untrue narrative over the last few years.

There's also the fact that they were originally scheduled to fight 5 years ago. Tony was much more in his prime
Everytime folks say Khabib’s striking is so much worse than his opponent, and EVERY time Khabib gets the better of the striking. Gaethje and Conor both elite strikers, outstruck both. Tony’s defensive striking is worse than both those guys, imo his striking had nothing special for Khabib. Would’ve been a wash in the striking dept.

Khabib was a terrible match-up for Tony.

Slicing him from the bottom with elbows? Come on.....

Nah Tony had a chance it's just that Khabib kept ducking him so he could retire with 3 title defenses and proclaim himself GOAT
this fight was scheduled what? 4 times?
And Tony was responsible for twice not working out.

So please spare me the bullshit.

Tony get's knocked down by everybody he fights. It was not like he was going to win the fight on his feet. His chance was on the ground. Khabib plays such a heavy pressure game that it most likely have negated that chance.

They jerked many in the LW division Tony the hardest Khabib included
that fight didnt need to be made for eithers ts
Now if you wana disagree its your right to be wrong

It honestly surprises me that Tony is the underdog. There's no shame to losing to Gaethje and Olives 2.0

There is ZERO shame in being an underdog to Dariush.... that’s a weak diss

He aged out. It is sad but look at all the former UFC LW champions and contenders. Age matters more for smaller divisions.

Khabib himself has said he could not be elite at Tony's age, not at lightweight.

He's right.

Its a bummer the fight never happened a few years back. To act surprised that a now 37 year old lightweight with a ton of mileage is deteriorating is disingenuous.

Also why take a cheap shot at Dariush? He's put together 6 in a row. Arguably one of the most well rounded guys in the division. Fighting Dariush right now isn't something to be embarrassed about.

Honestly Tony Ferguson's gimmick of "get my ass kicked until the other guy gasses" had a clock on it, and unfortunately for him the time has run out.

I still think Tony had the best chance to beat Khabib. Dustin, Justin and the like are just predictable; Khabib knows how to beat those guys, methodically and systematically. But, Tony's unpredictibility and penchant for cutting his opponents made him a wild card vs. Khabib. Sadly, Tiramisu is delicious and hard to resist and time waits for no one.
