Freddie does a great job breaking down the Khan vs Canelo fight, and then discusses the possibility of Pac vs Canelo. It turns out they have in fact been offered a fight with Canelo, and the fight is still a possibility.

Freddie says the fight would be at 155, but they would have to have a 10-pound re-hydration clause.

Canelo was 165 in the ring against Floyd in 2013. That would be the same weight as he would be against Pacquiao with the rehydration clause, except he would not have to drain to 152 for the weigh-in.

Of course, since then Canelo has gained quite a bit of weight. We all know he has fought as high as 174 pounds and has consistently been in the 170s until he stopped weighing in altogether.

I am not a fan of rehydration clauses, I think they are dangerous. I am also not a fan of absurd physical mismatches, they are also dangerous. So really, Pac vs Canelo is not a fight that has any reason to happen other than the massive amounts of money everyone will make. There is really no way for Pac and Canelo to have a fair fight, they just too far apart in size at this point.

can trainer who trains can fighters.

Roach has never had a legit champion.

This is a silly physical mismatch but would Freddie advise Manny to take the fight if he didn't think he had a good chance?

I don't think he'd push him to do it, that's a decision Manny would have to make on his own. It's a good money fight but both Pac and Roach are flush.

Good interview. I lol'd at "I wouldn't quit. He'd have to break my arm first... but I'd have a broken arm."

Didn't he advice him against fighting a younger Mosley or am I misremembering?

Mosley turned up at wild card and said he would fight. Roach said no you're too big. Mayweather whipped Mosley. Manny then fought him. If you google the story it'll say the weight, I can't remember off the top of my head.

I remember around the time of the Cotto/Margarito fight, someone asked him about Pac's chances against Margarito and he dismissed the idea as insane due to size difference.

Even Margarito was too big for him and shook him with some punches. Canelo crushes Pacman inside a few rounds.

He might have, I'm not sure. What weight was that?
It was during Shane's monster run before he fought Mayweather. Freddie admitted in an interview at his gym, he flat out told Shane he was too big and too dangerous, only if he came down to 142 would they consider. Shane declined. Only to fight Pacman 2yrs later. Funny no one ever says Manny waited for guys to get older and noticeably declined.

Yeah I remember that... Only for the Lil superhero to go on and hand Tony a severe beating.
