Obviously Hunt is a dangerous opponent, but the more I think about it the more I feel that is is really Frank's fight to win and this could be the start of him breaking back into the top 10 and moving up to the top level of the division again. I think Mir has the power to get Hunt's respect, both in his hands and his knees and kicks, he has continually improved his striking and I think he will be fine on the feet against Hunt and is Hunt easy to take down, no, but can he be taken down, yes, Mir gets him down and that could be the beginning of the end.

Mir has had a tough run of fights but he has only taken tough fights and he has never stopped evolving or lost belief in himself. Taking Arlovskii on 2 weeks notice is proof of that. He could easily have won that decision which would have put him on a 3 fight win streak. As it is I think the tide is about to turn for Frank Mir

I thought he did enough to get the nod against Arlovski

Mir has some power in his hands but they are awfully slow and robotic, the same goes for his kicks. If he can't get Hunt down(which I don't think he can) or bully him against the cage(maybe) he's getting KO'd by a left hook.

I been watching Frank since he beat Tank Abbot and I always side with Frank he is a fighters fighter if he has a broke arm he will tape that shit and thump if they ask him. Weather he wins or loses I always side with grimmy ass Frank Mir.

Agreed. I'm predicting another walk-off KO from Hunt although of course I'd love to see either of these guys win and I'd hate to see either lose. It'd be a death knell for either guy's career..

Mir better get Hunt down fast. He leaves himself open which is a big no against Hunt. Mir would have been tagged up by Duffee, if Duffees chin wasn't made of snowflakes. Mir can absolutely beat Hunt

As long as he doesn't come out as K1 Mir, he should be able to outlast Hunt and get the eventual sub. If he gets over confident, maybe it's smelly salt.

I think he subs him, Hunt's jits can't really cut it and I think Frank will find a way to trip him down, if not then Frank is fuuuucccckkkked.

Hunt looks old in his recent vid.

Not saying he has no chance obviously, but I can easily imagine Mir surprising people with his standup.

Frank Mir has fans? Just kidding, I like Frank but Hunt will get the KO.

Should be a good fight, both these guys show up to go win, lose, or draw. Mir seems to have problems with guys who are durable at times, Hunto would fall into that category, I'm going with Hunto by KO in this one, but wouldn't be surprised if Mir gets the fight to the canvas and pulls off the sub win. This is a real toss up fight and I'd only slightly favor Hunt just because the fight and rounds do start on the feet, only thing bad for Hunt is he's traditionally been a slow starter which gives Mir time to implement his game, IMO Mir gets 1st round sub win, or if it goes later he gets dropped.

I also scored the Arlovski fight to Mir.
Don't agree that Frank has problems with durable guys. The big wrestlers that have pushed him against the cage have caused him the most grief, and he didn't have much of a problem with the durable Big Nog x 2.
I can't wait for this fight. 2 of my favourite fighters and both showing respect. I hope Frank can take him down and submit but I fear the Hunt left hook. I say 50/50.

Im not so so sure about the statement he has continually improved .He has been in MMA for at least 17 years ,how much time does one need where they either look really good or really bad ? Just about all his loses were ones he should have won except for Arlovski which was a bad decision and Lesnar who then not many if any would have beat him that night. The hard truth is he should have been the UFC champ years ago with what he's capable of doing and beat out just about everyone with his high end submission game and very good striking game which is decent everyother fight ,but he hasnt improved vastly in the last few years with that along side his takedown ability which why for the life of me cant understand why he hasnt improvized new methods inside the clinch to attempt more takedowns since he is a submission master,,i dont get it.

At 6'3 250 pound range good size ,mobile and skilled with smarts hes basically an under achiever who lacks focus come fight time everyother fight ,we know this because he becomes robotic with a dear in the head lights look and by the time he decides to make up his mind to decide what strike to throw hes already in the mode of wait and see and goes on cruise control /auto pilot of not letting his strikes go and fighting to lose and simply doesn't show any urgency to win like he just showed up and nothings at stake. You can see this in several fights one that comes to mind mainly is JDS where he really attempted nothing and stayed directly in the perfect position on the outside of JDS 's punch zone waiting to get punched out. Mir is a perfect example of a guy with all the talent who has often overlooked his opponents or come not in the best shape which why he gasses almost always . Did this guy ever actually want to be the baddest man on the planet or lose fights with lack luster performances and a ho hum attitude if he doesnt win? One would never get that impression listening to him talking about how good he is and his commentary on fights is great ,i think he is the smartest guy in MMA of breaking down all positions the problem is Mir himself has to do that in the cage not over a microphone .....thats Mir in a nut shell .

I will never feel REAL confidant in a Mir fight but....Frank Mir By submission win under 3 rounds.

I'm a Frank Mir fan,

also a Mark Hunt fan.

Whoever wins, I'll be glad, just hope both parties come in with their best.

Can see it going either way TBH. Depends on who shows up fighting smart.

About the worst match up
available for either fighter.

It stays standing? Hunt
breaks facial bones.

It goes to the ground?
Mir breaks...... well...
He breaks SOMETHING
