The other night I tumbled off some stairs and managed to get a large fracture through my heel bone, now I'm in a cast.

Pretty much they gave me a cast and told me nothing, didn't say for how long its on, nothing about recovery, nothing :(

Some I'm wondering what supplements, if any, could help speed up recovery of the bone? Also diet wise what I should be eating?

It's pretty obvious I should avoid alcohol, junk food, and fizzy drinks, but what SHOULD i be trying to get into my diet?

Cheers

Get a lot of calcium through food, get yourself some magnesium oil and apply to the fractured bone. Take a daily multi with phosphorus as part of its profile, make sure to get either direct sunlight or 4000-5000 ius of Vitamin D3. Drink lots of water as well.

wiggle your toes to keep the blood flowing all the way through your leg and foot. since your heel is so far away from your heart you don't get nutrition from your blood as fast as other parts of your body. a broken clavicle will take a few weeks to heal on it's own. a broken calcaneus.....much much longer healing time.

i bruised my heel and destroyed the fat pad that cushions it after a bike riding accident. i wasn't full weight bearing until after 2 months.
