Fox News Rejects Ad With Leaked Texts From Dominion Lawsuit (mediaite.com)

Of course, its their business and they can advertise anyone they want, and surely should not air that ad, because it might upset their viewers, that the hosts privately think they are dumb as a box of rocks. It would effect their stock price and everyone knows their stock price is the only thing, Tucker Carlson cares about.
Now imagine the angst and pearl clutching of posters here is MSNBC decided not to run a negative ad about them, from a Conservative group. The face of the GOP, MTG would hold congressional hearings and claiming liberal media bias on that thief's Bannon's show.

Fox News and cable/corporate News is complete and utter S***. we've been over this.

Really stupid thread, again. Do you ever just have a dumb thought without making a thread about it?

MSNBC already doesn't run ads trashing their own network, or a bunch of conservative ads, and neither does any other network. Why in the absolute fuck would a TV network run ads trashing their own employees, especially ones based on fake news? Tucker Carlson said on air that Sydney Powell was crazy and not credible, and you are the one who fell for the fake news that he didn't and only said so in "secret texts".

Tucker wanted someone fired for fact checking election fraud bullshit.
Based on Tuck’s text he find members of his fan club like yourself a useful idiot to keep Fox News stock prices up.

It's sad that you don't see the hypocrisy here

The fun part is that you think this isn't being done to you.

lol at you thinking people like Nutman are as clueless and easily manipulated as you are.

People like me and nutman have an epistemology that is based on the desire to avoid becoming convinced of false things.

Neat...

Now do CNN and MSNBC

lol

Maybe I need to type things twice.
I was just making fun of the censor crowd.
The other thing I don’t blame Fox for not running the ad. Why point out to your audience you are liars. That won’t help boner pill ads.
Lastly I like to point out the political version of flat earthers, the Election was fake crew, you were lied too, to keep viewers from going to other “news” networks that would lie to you. A habitual liar told you the election was a fraud and you could not wait to eat up the bullshit he was feeding you.
Lastly lastly I only watch National cable network news once every 2 years. Election night I flip between Fox, CNN and MNSBC. luckily I caught Fix when they called Arizona in 2020 and got to watch the triggering live.

The point of this thread is that, despite claiming free speech as a core value, the right still censor. I don't blame Fox News for not wanting to run ads that call them out, but maybe it's time to have a grown up discussion about what should be moderated instead of hiding behind a value you don't believe in.

There's been a Trump shaped hole in your heart since he left office, and your mental health is badly declining trying to fill it with fake stories about Tucker Carlson or Ron DeSantis that just fall flat.

He said the same thing over text that he said on air. Way to rip the lid off this smoking gun of a bombshell. Even the dudes spouting the talking points from permanent Washington with sweater vests and low testosterone that you listen to made videos about it at the time, and are now making videos pretending it's new information over 2 years later because this time it's text messages.

Who the Christ ever claimed a television network was a free speech platform? There is no TV network that was ever just open for anybody to say anything. It's paid airtime and the people working there are paid employees. On top of it being paid airtime on cable networks, there's been a federal commission for 90 years that regulates things that can't be said on public TV and radio waves.

These networks can be and all have been sued over content on their network plenty of times ffs.

Fox News themselves have railed against similar incidents. Frankly, that's something they do consistently, when it suits their narrative and without examining the context. So has many posters on this forum, which we saw recently with the thread about CNN not wanting to run fake news or ads that targeted them. I agree with you that it's logical for them to do, but as I already said, that's not the issue this thread is pointing out. It's the hypocrisy of only pretending that silencing matters when it's convenient.

Another recent example of that is the whole Twitter fiasco with Musk and posters on here claiming to want "free speech absolutism", but then reversing when the shoe is on the other foot. I'll have to repeat myself, I'm not against Fox not wanting to run these ads, I'm pointing out the hypocrisy of weaponizing a value you don't believe in.

And I'll repeat myself. Cable networks are not free speech platforms, and can be sued for what they run on their network. Twitter was supposed to be a free speech platform, have almost entirely people they don't know posting on their site's content, which was why they cannot be sued for things people post on their site.

You're still missing the point and I can only assume it's intentional.
