I never posted one before and came across this one on youtube.
It was from a small local tournament.

I'm in the blue. Opponent was 149, I was 169. We did a filler match just for fun.

Man it's difficult to finish an arm in guillotine with the head on that side of the half guard; maybe your opponent was squeezing the shit out of you.

Or was it is a pure blood choke and put you out?

He was squeezing for dear life. I made a couple of mistakes as well. I started loseing vision, so I tapped.
I tried to get out, but he had his legs locked up tight. I messed up after the takedown and was thinking "Which way do I go again?" I also didn't grab his arm with my right hand to relieve the pressure.

Live and learn. I thought:"5 more seconds and this guys hands are toast". Sadly he got to me before that. hahaha

I am pretty sure he cut to make weight. I weighed in with my clothes on. Too small of a tournament to really cut weight and risk getting pushed up a division.
I was about 2 heads taller though. :D

Didn't think he's be able to get it from there. Defense needs work on your part, along with the takedowns. An arm drag is good but you need to follow it up with something like a single leg. Sorry I can't say more positive things, not much happened in the match.

Haha reason I pull guard instead of handfighting with fools. After the first 60 sec of that I would just butt scoot. With your size adv he would have had trouble passing your guard. Oh well you learned a valuable lesson about your awful takedowns.

I'm sorry but the problem wasn't the takedown, that I would say was decent for his experience. The problem was the follow up: with the proper defense there's no way you are going to be choked from that position, unless there is a HUGE size disadvantage, which was not the case.

    The correct defense is:
    - use your right hand on his choking arm/wrist/hand to alleviate pressure
    - tripod pushing with right leg
    - turn torso and head toward legs
    - put pressure with left shoulder

Also before the opponents hands got locked, you can see there was a window for escape, maybe with a limp arm or just hand fighting the grip.
