I had a wasp nest in mine last summer. I would destroy it and the fuckers would rebuild. Nothing like opening the BBQ and getting attacked by a hundred wasps.

I'd be more concerned with the fact that you have rats.

You have 2 options....

1. Man up, clean the grill and enjoy your steaks.
2. Buy a new grill and BBQ tomorrow

Considering rats carry diseases, I'd take option 2 and not risk it.

My grill cost about 900 bucks and will reach 600-700 degrees . I'm assuming most decent grills will get around that , which should kill any and everything . You're crazy if you'd throw a functioning grill away because a rodent touched it. Worse stuff likely happens to the food you eat out on a fairly regular basis .
