Forbes Highest Paid Athlete List 2023: No mma fighter makes the list

I believe Conor is the only MMA fighter to ever make the list - correct me if I am wrong. They have Conor making $180 million in 2020. Only $43M in 2022, how is he surviving?

I would have been SHOCKED (and embarrassed for all other sports) if I saw an MMA athlete not named Conor on that list. As would we all.

I just saw the Forbes Highest Paid Athletes List and no mma fighter made the list.

The only athlete from Combat Sports to make the List is Canelo Alvarez making $110 million.
Did the list include the "locker room bonuses" and the cash values of the Reebok coupons? Otherwise it's not capturing the true generosity of Dana White and Co

You should post the link (source) in the OP.

I imagine most of the athletes on the list play soccer. The elite in that sport make OBSCENE amounts of money.

But without the list readily available in the OP. I don’t know the amount the lowest athlete on the totem pole got paid. Without that info I might be little surprised only one boxer made the list.

And Conor only made it that one year (2 yrs ago?) Because he sold his shares in that shitty horse piss booze company he had. So that’s a COMPLETE joke saying he made the list.. Yet the money was not related to his sport.

The guy that made the most money in 2022 for MMA didn't even have a fight in that year.

I'd like to know where Khabib ranks in overall net worth

Disgraceful.

The UFC should genuinely be embarrassed that they can't get a single athlete or champion on that list.

You should take a look at the list a lot of those guys make their money in endorsements.

Roger Federer made 100k playing Tennis, but $95m in off court sponsors and endorsement deals.

How disgraceful is it that only one boxer made it?

Why would the WME/UFC give a shit if they made the list or not? I’m pretty sure the $1B in revenue is more important to them and their shareholders than making some stupid list that compares apples to pineapples.

One boxer made it according to the OP. Which fighter in the UFC this year deserved to get paid $100M+?

Guys like Conor, when making so much, were seen as megastars that transcended the sport

The UFC is stuck in this rut of lacking true megastars, and the silly policy of underpaying fighters is a primary cause.

Our guy @cmw43 is right, it's also largely about endorsements - it's a sign the sport has real mass appeal to an enormous audience.

The fact the UFC has NOBODY with that level of appeal, despite the sheer size of the company, roster, and its media engine, is disgraceful.

Its a much more risky move for any brand to associate with a cage fighter than a tennis or a soccer player. Even if as classy as GSP. Its normal
