Khabib is willing to throw millions of dollars away just for loyalty. This is an answer to all you capitalist materialists out there who think everyone would do the same thing in always going for the money and that nobody fights for honor, dignity and legacy. Khabib is willing to sacrifice millions of dollars for Tukhugov.

Khabib can easily say FU to UFC and fight in Russia. What can they possibly do? File a suit? Good luck winning that in Russia.

There's literally a video before his ufc title fight where he says and I quote

"who needs money? I have water and bread. I just need this title"

But people are going to forget about him. "He's 27-0, but he never fought X", "Conor was tailor made for him", "Khabib is hiding from Y", "Z is defending the title while Khabib is hiding".
He does care about legacy and being the best. He can't be the best if he can't fight, he can't fight top competition while under contract.

He retires and people will ask "Wow, best Lightweight ever?". Then Tony will win his next fight. Then the one after that and suddenly people start to say "Tony's #1. BJ or Khabib #2." Eventually people will just move on.
