Have you ever felt like you're running too fast? I was doing a 100 yard dash today with a slight downhill grade for about 30 yards. When I hit the flat grade I had to slow up because it felt like I was gonna either fall or injure myself. Has this happened to any of you? I guess I shouldn't sprint on a downhill grade.

I was never a sprinter, but one time when I was doing a 100m for speedwork I hit my stride in such a way that I felt a much higher than usual amount of power being generated, and a corresponding very high strain in my quads. I felt like something was about to tear or pull.

I've never managed to find that exact form ever since.

I've heard that sprinting slightly uphill is preferred to prevent injuries. I've never felt like I was going to pull something but I have jarred my ankle a few times from sprinting on a track.

Yeah, I know what you mean! When I sprint sometimes my upper body gets ahead of my legs somehow... and I have to slow down!

you are so fucking annoying with your exclamation points. Jesus christ dude.

you don't do a downhill running for sprint training for the very reason you mentioned. Also running downhill affects your mechanics, it places your leg to much in front your center of gravity thus slowing you down. You have to do uphill running for around 20 meters and rest about 2-3 mins each rep. Uphill running puts you in an angle when running which aids in proper acceleration mechanics at the start of a sprint.

also making threads of sprinting should go in the strength power section i wuold believe. Its not a conditioning sport.

haha! Idk, it's all good! I wasn't trying to be cocky either brah, meant no offense, was just wondering! Idk why I use them so much, it honestly comes down to my OCD, I used to double them up like so!! At the end of EVERY sentence! So, atleast I don't do that,:)
