Nevermind the activity I was about to partake because I fear the mods will move the thread, but I get a doorbell from this guy with an Xfinity cap saying something about "it usually being a modem thing and I can just tighten a few screws" or something along those lines which sounded like utter bullshit.

I proceeded to lay into how much I fucking hate Comcast and if this really is some kind of "speed issue" then they need the innovation to fix it on their end without evidently trying to come into my damn house.

I wanted this dude to know how pissed I was so I just ranted for a while comparing them to Verizon and stuff and he sorta proved his legitimacy (at first I thought he was a conman trying to enter my crib under the false pretense of being a Comcast rep) by mentioning how Verizon "has moved to fiber optics-" and I cut him off all like "Well that's where you assholes need to pick up the fucking ball and stop being so stingy and go ahead and implement all that."

I should've probably prefaced this with the fact that I'm on anxiety medication (2MG Clonazepam), 28 years old, staying at my parents place, and going fucking crazy over the fact that there have been some robberies (well, two, one dumb old neighbor left his garage door open and got ransacked and then some other house down the street got raided) and I'm super dooper insane pissed off my parents withheld with math placement tests for this college I'm trying to transfer to because I feel they're trying to ruin my whole life so uh yeah.

That dude was trying to rob your home, bro. Should have let him and then shot him.

Why would Comcast ever have to enter your home because of speed issues on that node? That is nothing that could be fixed by doing anything to your modem.

Wtf? Double post

From reading your ramblings, I wonder if none of this actually happened and you imagined the whole thing.

lol just got off the phone with customer service.

Hindi fellow wanted to have this lengthy discourse about "verification", "mom's last four of social" and all that shit but I cut him off like "I'm about to begin a police investigation to uncover whether or not someone is using Comcast to commit fraud [looking at the video on the cameras on the traffic lights, identify vehicle, yadda yadda] did you or did you fucking not try and send somebody to [my address]?"

And yes, Comcast is this pathetic. They really did need somebody to come get physical access to MY modem because they don't know dick.

So this tech just shows up at your house, out of the blue, asking to come in and tinker with your modem?

Which screws do I need to turn to increase my internet speed?

And this is why customer service jobs suck.

i thought you were a successful computer science researcher at a university? Jk, never thought that - you just said you were.

Verizon customer service called the house phone trying to reach my mom for a "courtesy call".

I asked about the nature of this "courtesy call" and said I was my mom and when he asked for the account information I threatened to kill his family. :(

I upgraded to physics. Next will be medicine.

Compsci was way too fucking easy.

I'm not trying to be funny or an asshole, but, do you take medication?
I can't tell if the pills are making it worse or if it's the clonazepam AND extremely heavy hash oil usage (I live in Washington and there's a weed shop 2 minutes away that sells grams of >80% THC honey oil for $20/gram).
