I decided to order some chinese food. I ordered ahead of time because i knew it would take about an hour to get here. So an hour and 15 minutes pass and I get a call on my cell phone. It is the delivery girl asking me to open the gate. Now on the deliver instructions I put to use the call box at the gate to call me and that is the only way I can open the gate. I explain to her to use the call box, scroll thru it, find my name, and hit the call button and it will call my phone and then I can open the gate. I have used it myself, its simple.

So now 10 minutes have passed. I get a call from her cell phone again, but this time it is a man. Apparently she got inside my complex but can not find my apartment. Now I also put in the instructions go left from the gate, etc. There is also a map right at the front by the gate. I explain to him my building number, etc and he says o he will explain it to her.

20 more minutes have gone by. I call the chinese food place. They do not speak english very well but I manage to get them to understand that she called me and then never brought my food. They say they will call her and find out what is going on.

10 more minutes have gone by. She calls me again saying she can not find my apartment. At this point it has been 40 minutes since she called me at the gate. So either she has been wandering around my complex for 40 minutes with my food , or she gave up and left and came back. Either way my food must be cold now and I'm pretty pissed since I have waited almost 2 hours for what was supposed to take an hour. This isn't the first time I have had issues with delivery drivers here. What is so hard to comprehend about using the call box of an apartment? Anyone else have problems with delivery drivers?

She was probably on pots

You must be wealthy living in a gated community.

Your shit sounds too complicated. Especially for trying to play telephone (literally) with the Chinese.

Get rid of your Get Smart entry system, and get a regular door, yo.

Sounds like this is a repeat occurrence, so I must question whether your directions are good or not.

I mean, I am limited to how many words the instructions can be, but here they are.

There is no gate code. Call "My Name" on the box. Go left after the gate. Third building from the front. Building 9.

Seems pretty simple to me.

Ok I'm here, where the fuck is building 9 bro?

You have a right to be annoyed, but poor girl didn't understand you. I'm sure this isn't the way she wanted it to go either.

That's because you didn't grow up in China. Those directions are way too nuanced for a second language noobie.

It's like when Ariel Helwani asks a foreign fighter who barely speaks English a question like, "Do you consider this win a feather in your cap, so to speak?" and then gets confused when he has to re-word the question.

You could have went out and got the food yourself, fat ass.

Should've just met her outside

Or gotten Panda Express

got to agree w/the others on here. could've just met her at the gate if this is a problem you've ran into a couple of times now.

Yeah man just go get it yourself if it's that confusing. I bet you used this to justify not tipping her to make yourself feel better too. Asshole

If you met her at the front ofor the gate it woulda been less of a waste of time for the both of you. Be less lazy next time.

So what happened then, did you finally get your food?

From the front of what sir?, you asked me to turn left? Is this a prank call?

Should just go down and take the food bro.

Its been covered already, but to you the directions seem clear because you know the area and how to get there, they seem a bit confusing to me, I think I might be able to figure it out, but for someone who probably doesn't speak very good english, its gotta be confusing as fuck.

Like others have said, just get your lazy ass up next time and meet them outside.
