Anyone in the F&B industry? What’s your favorite stereotypes?
Indonesians don’t want ice in their water
Chinese people will wave you down because they’re ready to order as soon as they sit down
African Americans need straws with their water
Europeans/Canadians don’t tip

That poor people work in the food and beverage industry.

as a former waiter.....

black people/europeans/asians don't tip

black people will run you to death and always want ranch

Don't tip as in nothing or give the minimum 15-20 percent?

in my experience, eastern europeans tip the worst. usually no more than a dollar or three. Had a $700 tab for some people from Russia and got $2. But all those people do not tip because of their culture. They pretend they do not know the difference when they come here so they can ust ignore it. but somehow americans get labeled as the rude tourists.

black tables are different (generally speaking). while they do tip less than other races most of the time, they also sometimes tip way above and beyond. so i would always treated them great hoping i got one of the big tippers. but they definitely like to run you more than others.

and i was a server in Las Vegas, on the STrip, so i saw all kinds from all over the world

Servers fucking whining about tips is the most annoying fucking thing in the world and they're all pieces of shit when they do this tbh.

Also, a stereotype that is a myth is that food gets "messed with", spit in, etc. on a regular basis. It is exceptionally rare and people who talk about it like it's common place are fucking weirdos

Most people who I know that work in the industry enjoy drugs and alcohol..
<{jackyeah}>
basically a gathering of skanks trying to get by in life. when the night shift is over the tip money goes to more booze and drugs. Sleep in till 2pm. repeat cycle

I even have a few Chef buddies, they couldn’t wait until the kitchen closed and they could hit the bar…And like you said, most of the waiters and waitresses hung around after hours as well…My buddies would sleep all day…it’s a rough existence…

Ya even though my buddy was pulling like 200 bucks a night in tips at a fancy steakhouse it's still a miserable industry full of scumbags. He ended up begging me for pills to trade for weed and all sorts of desperate pathetic no career type shenanigans. that lockdown shit fucked them over mentally even harder than it already was

Damn I feel like a cheapo now. I just double the tax for everything. I don't bother the waiter though. Just bring me my food. If it sucks then I don't go back.
