Flying Omoplata demo

I do the flying omoplata a few different ways , but I've never seen it done quite like that. very slick, but it looks a bit far fetched (unless the guy just stands there like that). I'll have to play with it.

not 1 unnessesary rotation thou?

That's what I was thinking, just flair IMO. If you want a solid flying OMA you can just go straight to it, but this is if you are going for style points and a finish.

Slick. I'm going to drill it for a while and then try it while sparring in the following weeks.
If i stop posting for a month or more, it means i broke my neck while attempting it.

First thing I thought as well.

The extra roll doesn't seem to add too much to the technique. It may make it a little bit easier to get the omoplata deep, but I think the slowness of the technique more than offsets this.

Actually, the flying omoplata I posted first is pretty much the same as the omoplata from spider guard

I wouldn't believe it if I didn't see it

That was impressive to say the least.

It won't work on a resisting opponent, at least not the way it was demonstrated. Note that the omoplata that he throws on his opponent at first merely wraps over the opponent's forearm below the elbow, rather than above the elbow by the tricep. You can't force someone to tap or continue the progression of the movement unless you have the thigh on the tricep/above teh elbow joint.
