I like it. Let Mayweather start his mma career in the minor league like everyone else.

The glove doesn't matter though - unless Floyd thinks wearing an MMA glove gives kickboxers magic KO power. Are they going to allow Tenshin to kick?
 
I just don't get how they will be able to pay him enough. Mayweather is a big star and will pull in viewers but he's gonna demand 100mil+ per fight. I mean I guess if his opponent makes 100k then it's a relatively fair split and decent business move for rizin but yeah beyond that it seems silly.

And it isn't even confirmed that this will be a kickboxing match. It could easily just be a boxing match with modified rules for some clinch work. I can't see mayweathers boxing stance working in a kickboxing match or him making adjustments in such a short period of time to deal with leg kicks.

If it was another fighter I might believe it is legit but Mayweather won't take any risks so this just seems like promotional tomfoolery before he essentially fights another overmatched non-boxer in a boxing style match.
 
floyd fighting a guy he is 20lbs heavier than with a tailored rule set sounds about right
 
Hes helping promote the mma brand by fighting boxing in it.
