If Mayweather wasn't undefeated, would he be close to as popular and as big of a draw as he is now? Lets say he got a couple losses early or in the middle of his career before he started having big fights. Maybe he lost his first big fight. Then fast foward and hes doing all the same things hes doing now. How much would he be getting per fight? 1 mil, 5 mil? Would he even be a draw at all?

A lot of people complain about mayweather having boring predictable fights. He fights safe and picks his opponent apart for a decision everytime. Despite all this he is the biggest draw in boxing by far. Is it because people want to see him finally lose? A lot of the hype always comes down how unbeatable he is and the perfect record. Is a perfect record more important than the fighter?

No. The reason he's so popular IS because he's undefeated. He knows this, it's what makes him money. Boxing is an extremely fickle sport, you can be on top for years, lose once & you're a no hope bum in the fans eyes. The minute he loses he loses a huge mandatory bank roll. He knows this, that's why he's so picky with his fights, it is literally financial life of death for him, he pisses money away, he needs the money boxing provides as an undefeated legend. The minute he loses his stock falls more than any boxer in history.

People will post the fact he had over a hundred million in his bank account. The fact that he keeps that amount in one account shows how stupid he is with money.

The thing about boxing is that anyone who's worth a damn goes at least 20-0. there are exceptions obviously but for the most part its rare for a decent prospect to lose a fight early or even in the middle of their career. Its not until they face other world class fighters that they lose. So losing early is not even a discussion. However the difference between him and Zab Judah is that Floyd won all his big PPV fight and Zab lost some.

Probably not. Tonnes of people tune into his fights because they want to see him get that first L on his record. Once it's there, his value would plummet exponentially. Good thing for him he'll probably retire undefeated though.
