Mayweather Admits He Barely Trained For McGregor Fight
While Mayweather says he took the fight with McGregor seriously, he didn't really train too much for the contest.

“For the Conor McGregor [fight], I didn’t really train,” Mayweather said to The Drink Champs.

“All I did was do pushups and situps. That’s all I did. Pushups and situps, box a few times, hit the bag a few times, because, actually, training camp was in different places. I would do training camp in Vegas a few days, [but] sometimes I wouldn’t go to the gym for a week.[/quote[

Of course he didn't. He only trained to carry McGrappler to maximize PPV sales.

He didn't have to, to exploit the simple minded rules of boxing. It's hard for the better fighter to dumb his game down that much.

Why would he need one? He was prob just trying to stay sharp by hitting the bag and shadowboxing.

That explains Conor outboxing him the first 3 rounds.

lol why would he?

easiest fight of his career. all he had to do was show up.

Ariel Helwani was waiting inside his club for like 6 hours to get an interview with Floyd, I believe the was fight week or 2 weeks out from the fight.

I wish he took it more seriously so we could see him absolutely demolish Conor.

I hope they make this Manny fight. Anything that keeps mcg away from the octagon is better for the sport of mma.

And his fans will be able to fantasize about some impossible ko. Then brag about the money he made after he gets smoked.

Requesting sub-forum for the BS threads.

He came forward at McGregor...

Let’s not kid ourselves and say if he trained harder, he would have beat him worse. If Floyd did the Floyd strategy, he’d have never been hit and probably have dropped McGregor early. It was a work. Couple hundred million dollar horses. Why risk blowing out one when the crowd already paid and knows who’ll win?

It's a very well known fact, you can go and check his IG and see his posts for that period of time and you can see he clearly was promoting his night club.

The people that bought the PPV would've been mad as fuck if Floyd didn't let it go on for a bit. He sold the matchup exactly the way he should've.

There is a video of Floyd during his "camp" for the fight with Conor, eating cheesburger at a Burger King LMAO

This is No different than when trainers say this was the best camp of his fighters life. Anyone who thinks Floyd didn’t train is an idiot. He’s a pro through and through. He did what he always does. Waits a few rds to get the timing of his opponent. .this fight he played with Conor until he got the tko.

Why train when he can play around with conor and make the fight exciting for the fans?

It wasn’t a work. Floyd knew the fans were salty over the Pacquiao fight and he felt like he owed them for it. So he didn’t come out and fight his normal defensive style.

Not a surprise. Floyd is one of the GOAT boxers. He made sure he was in decent shape and his muscle memory alone is going to beat someone at McGregor's level of boxing every time.

[<dunn]
I wouldn't call Floyd Mayweather's interpretation of boxing rules, simple minded.<{ByeHomer}>
Why not? Turtle up with pillows and complain about everything that lands. He's a good boxer, not a good fighter.
