Fiziev ducking grapplers

Almost everyone ranked ahead of him is a striker.

Poirier, Chandler and Gaethje are all strikers. After that you have Benny who is a possibility and you have Charles, who said he wanted time off.

His last fight was RDA, who mixes striking and grappling.

Uhhh he just fought Dos Anjos.
One of the tougher tests IMO. At this point you can't blame him if TS is implying he should fight Arman or Gamrot who both are ranked below. I hope he gets the Gaethje fight he deserves it. If not just call out Benny since he agreed to fight 7 more times before getting a title shot.

Plenty of grapplers in the top 10 at LW, Fiziev wants nothing to do with them, change my mind.

Only "grapplers" ahead of him in the rankings (aside from the champ) are Oliveira & Dariush and he probably won't get either fight. If you suggest he fight anyone behind him in the rankings this is a certified troll thread lol. <Lmaoo>

Is RDA a grappler? He’s very well rounded. But if I had to name a specialty for him, I don’t think it’d be grappling.

What grappler is going to cause him fits, though?

Arman or Islam probably cause everyone at 155lbs massive fits, Fiziev is teammates with Arman though and the fight doesn't really make sense. Besides that Beneil and Oliveira have solid grappling but somewhat poopy takedowns. Gamrot could be interesting but it's not exactly a fight that makes sense.

These guys know beating up Chandler/Poirier/Gaethje gets them a title shot. I reserve the right to be wrong but I think Fiziev melts Gaethje.

I'd love to see Fiziev vs Gamrot at some point in the future.

I think that fight is all over the place, with neither capable of totally dictating the fight.

I think Gamrot is a heck of a grappler and a real slippery customer, but he's not entirely dominant, and I think there's just a ton of opportunity for chaos in that fight.

Yeah, Gaehtje is the obvious fight for him, but I'd also like to see him fight Beneil. I think he might light Dariush up, TBH.

His grappling is definitely his best skill. He's an extremely high level black belt. He can certainly strike too and there have been times where he's gone away from his grappling, but there's no question he's the most dangerous when he's leaning heavily on his grappling. All his finishes since 2016 are submissions.

He's going for the top 5. Islam has the belt and and I think he was calling out Charles before. Dariush is most likely next up after Volk so that's probably why he isn't focused on him. You also have to factor in time lines. Like others have just said he just fought RDA and he couldn't take him down and control him. So far his TDD looks legit. If the grapplers think they can beat him, then why aren't the "grapplers" calling him out?

As other in the thread have mentioned, he just KOd RDA, who tried to impose a grapple heavy game plan. Considering RDA was able to take a WW like Colby down, I’d say Fizievs TDD is impressive

The only "grapplers" if we're talking strong takedown artists in the top 10 are Gamrot, Islam and Arman. Arman and Fiziev are teammates, Fiziev has even coached Arman at Tiger Muay Thai, same manager too I believe also the fight doesn't make much sense anyways. Gamrot just got derailed pretty hard. Beneil and Oliveira have strong grappling but they don't really have the means to reliably take Fiziev down unless they gas him out or drop him. I agree, this thread feels a little out of left field, Poirier, Oliveira, Gaethje or Chandler should be who Fiziev is gunning for right now, same for Dariush because realistically he isn't sitting out until the fall and has been trying to get Poirier or Oliveira.

Why not? That magmed mustafev guy finished him Pretty bad. Why risk it again

HE lost to every grappler he fought
