I looks to me like David Allen did some almost cartoonish posing throughout the fight. If you're going to work a fight, try to make it look real, not this ridiculous shit. He's totally trying to look cool there.
That fight was broken. What you see there is an A level bum taking out a C even bum. When David Price nearly kills you you know your future in the sport ain’t exactly bright.
Hard to say for sure, definitely looks a little fishy. Apparently there was some unusual betting activity going on and the fight is being officially investigated -https://www.boxingscene.com/david-allen-darch-deny-wrongdoing-amidst-investigation--146642
At the time it did look strange, but I put it more down to levels of opponent and Allen saying he doesn't want such hard fights anymore. It got stranger when the commentary said they'd had a coffee over breakfast together. Now there's talk of a round 2 KO odds dropping sharply from huge bets.
That struck me as odd too, but the fight ended in the third so someone lost money. At the time I just thought Allen was clowning and was given a bollocking by his corner after the second so came out better in the third. Fix feels very plausible though.
David Price's jab is like getting hit with a normal straight. That's being a bit harsh. If a 6'9 gigantic human being knocks you out then that just makes you mortal...
There were times at the beginning where all Darch had to do was throw anything and he would've hit Allen 3 or 4 times before Allen's punch even arrived. Not to mention Darch throws a couple of rights hands where Allen's head isn't, and hasn't been. Once the fight gets going it doesn't look so bad, but the beginning looks weird as hell. Maybe if he hadn't started showboating until later (you know, once it makes sense that he's established himself) it wouldn't be so unbelievable. There's no real sense of urgency in either guy. They seem to just let each other throw, and in the absence of return fire they just stop throwing for no apparent reason. At best it feels like friendly sparring, not a fight.
There were similar suspicions when Barerra fought his sparring partner Cesar Najera although it didnt look like a fix but they overturned the win into a NC when they found out they were friends
