I just dropped some leftover snack from Christmas in the floor, then immediately picked it up and ate it.

Does anyone else follow this rule?

Depends on what it is and where it fell.

Minced* pie and on the living room floor as I was looking where I was walking instead of at the pie as it went in my face. It ended up slipping out of my fingers and landing on the floor that we walk across.

*minced apple and raisin.

With covid ?

Are you insane?

I wait 10 seconds at a minimum before I pick it up and eat it

Oh shit! If I die tell my wife and children that I love them.

But, that I loved mince pies more.

Should you follow it? That's up to you, likely nothing's gonna happen.

Do germs take 5 seconds to get on your mashed potatoes after you dropped it? That's b.s.

5 second rule is a myth, there are germs all over it as soon as it hits the floor.

As long as the germ saturation level isn't too high on the surface and or the types of germs aren't too hostile, you should be just fine........
