Fitch vs Okami and Ivanov vs Mehmen Set for WSOF 24 Oct 17th

I understand putting a name like Rampage, Kimbo, Tito, or Shamrock in the main event to draw casuals...

But Okami and John F'in Fitch!

Is that supposed to draw people in?!? Most people have no idea who those guys are and the ones who do know that they are both boring AF.

Might as well promote a Heavyweight World Title Fight, something that should be appealing by name alone.
Most people have no idea who they are? Say what?

Fitch and Okami are two of the most well known fighters fighting outside the UFC.

Of course, they are both known for being among the most boring elite fighters in history :D

I would take Okami here except I don't know how he handles that weight cut.

With the lack of meaningful MMA cards right now, this place looks like it's run by junior high girls. Ronda/Travis dating threads, Alpha Male drama, Sage rage, Fighter A said this about Fighter B, etc.

Unfortunately, the following 6 words won't change things...

"Fitch vs. Okami! Winner fights Shields!!!"

It's really sad if you think WW is one of the most stacked divisions. For fuck's sake, these three guys that are contending have been fighting for over a decade each. LW, FW and now BW is shaping up to be much better divisions across the board in these organizations. They actually have fighters that could give people in the top five a fight and win.

Go cry whatever fanboy tears you have for Shields or Fitch, I can't tell who you're so upset about. A spade is a spade - they're boring as all fuck, and without Palhares in their division, it's a joke. He already subbed two of the three contenders. Hell, now you actually have me sounding like a Rousimar fan, isn't that a crazy day.

Bellator's WW division is like SF's, it's striker friendly and I'm okay with that. Call it what it is. I doubt anyone there in that division would break the world top 10, but they all match up well against each other and are entertaining (except the last title fight). I doubt Koreshkov is going to able to surprise anyone else with a wrestling approach though, so that probably won't happen again.

I don't know why you're talking about Askren. I think he should be in the UFC, but I don't know what that has do with anything. Good for him if he's making six figure pay over there in One though.

Just tell me, are you a Zuffa hater, WSOF cheerleader, or Shields try-hard? I just want to know, because your overly emotional response is puzzling.

I don't know where you find the upset/overly emotional side of my comment. This is just a forum and arguing is the sauce, tha'ts what Im doing with my limited English.

And I disagree with you saying WSOF WW division is a hollow. If so, which isnt at 170 out of UFC?

I didnt say WW is the most stacked division out of UFC. Moraes, Galvao and Bibi arent fighting for the same promotion unfortunately.
Palhares, Shields and Okami are likely top 5 WWs out of UFC any of them, and all of them are fighting for the same org.
That's what I meant

Shields is boring when is boring and is not when is not. He is a submission specialist who has just submitted two legit vets in the first round in WSOF...would you prefer to see a knockout by "striking specialist" Fernando Gonzalez? Well, not me, and I like striking as much as anyone.

Shields-Palhares was a really good fight in my opinion.
Palhares fighting any Bellator WW would be much more boring, basically because they would not have nothing for him. There would be no fight.
Palhares-Okami is a very intriguing fight to me, so would be Shields-Palhares 2

Again, there is no upset here. I just disagree with what you are saying, and I try to put it in words

With all the people who said they wouldn't make it to 2016, they seem as strong as ever. This card is stacked as hell: Vinny, Hamill, Fitch, Okami, and a HW title fight!
I actually prefer this over most UFC Fight Nights and non-tentpole Bellator's. I would even say it could hold it's own against a few UFC on Fox.

I am for Fitch v Okami as headliner and even think Hamill v Vinny should co-headline. HW title can be the featured bout.

Ah, I'm sorry then. Language difference and all.

I just meant it was hollow as an the winner is most likely going to be viewed as a paper champ if they force Palhares out of the division. He has already emphatically defeated two of the three contenders, so to have him removed is going to leave a question mark next to whomever holds it after him.

Interested to see Salchow fight in a a bigger promotion. Feels like on the German scene everybody is ducking eachother to protect their records.

good test vs louis taylor
