First victim of the Ashley Madison Leak revealed

He should ask forgiveness for his rapes of English grammar.

"I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife."

First Jared, now this. Is nothing sacred? Is my 'controversial' history of e-book purchases and 'unconventional fan fiction' about to be exposed to the public? Is my marriage at risk?

So these guys are the judge, jury, and executioner? The moral police?
This type of thing pisses me off. I'm sure these guys have never lived their lives strictly on the 'straight and narrow.'
So what if married people have an affair? It is normal for lots of people in society to cheat on their spouses, whether its bad or not.

It's normal only for scumbags. If people want to be scumbags, then they should be viewed as and called out for what they are. They chose this lifestyle for themselves.

So you support and encourage property theft if it outs "scumbags"?

Call me crazy, but I think hacking into a company's website and stealing their data is actually a greater violation of ethics than cheating on one's spouse.

This AM hack is really one of those great, real-life moral conundrums. We get to see the people who will violate rationality in favor of emotional bias on the way to reaching their verdict.

.

nope

Dang that's sad. And it was not very smart to have the affair. Hopefully he can change, hopefully his family stays together. But having an affair is a typically a deathblow to a marriage.

If they stay together then his wife is mentally disabled. She needs to gtfo

I'm not sure I agree to that, but I certainly don't think one justifies the other.

Even so, I'm weirdly filled with schadenfreude. The moral consistency of my instinctive reactions seems to be rather low in this issue.

Maybe, maybe not. If he changes and she feels led by God to stay with him, she might stay with him. In this case they both will need counseling to help. Also, they may need to separate for a while so Josh can get his spiritual life, and behaviors in order. Josh needs serious help. And he was a real jerk and that is being kind. He put her at serious risk for getting std's. Not to mention, he has four kids, and he let down a lot of people. That was devastating.

If she leaves him for good and gets a divorce, I don't blame her. How could you truly ever trust a spouse like that again? That may be the right thing in this case. The Bible allows for divorce in cases of adultery. So it is up to her.

Matthew 19
"8Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. 9I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.”

Scumbags and fraudsters have no problem in lying and cheating....how do we expose them without bending some of the rules they have set up themselves? Its great to see a man that is preaching family value and want to deny others to marry get exposed like this:D

Let's say you're a man who has a fetish for wearing a diaper and being treated like a naughty baby by a dominatrix. Now let's say you have an online membership in a fetish club. Now let's say that club's website gets hacked and your name, address, and personal, sexual predilections are made public by the hackers - where they are eventually discovered by your friends, family and co-workers.

Would you consider this hack and release an immoral act? Would you consider it a violation of your privacy?

It depends....Do i claim to be a man of faith and preach about morals and family value? Again I have no problem religious fraudsters to be exposed by any means. You have this in every religion preachers who exploit religious people by telling them what they want to hear and take their money, while behind the scene live totally different life style. I also have no problem married people cheating being exposed.

So, in your world, people who are religious hypocrites, or non-religious people who have affairs, should not be granted the same legal rights and protections as others. Because that will teach 'em!

"Hey, I just heard some fundamentalist, anti-gay preacher got beaten and robbed in his home by intruders. The police report said he and another man, a key witness, were engaging in an intimate act in the bedroom when the break-in occurred. So I'm cool with the robbery and assault since it ended up outing the anti-gay preacher as a queer."

And yes, that's a direct extension of the rationale some are using in this thread to justify the AM hack.

I had a huge problem with Josh Duggar's media hitpiece a few months ago. But this, I have zero problem with. Initially, he was shown to be a confused teenage boy. But now he's revealed himself to be a piece of shit husband and human being. Fuck him.

He made his bed. Now he's gotta deal with it. I gave him the benefit of the doubt when he was 14-15, that maybe he had changed his life around. But I agree, he knew better than to be cheating on his wife on Ashley Madison. That was stupid and selfish. He had a family, he shoulda known better than to cheat.

Uh... You do realize the huge number of significant historical personages you are throwing under the bus by rendering that verdict against the maritally unfaithful, right?

The difference between the levels of compassion and forgiveness our society has for alcohol, meth and heroin addicts, versus dopamine addicts, continues to amaze me. Drugs are drugs, man. And for some people "just saying no" is an insufficient solution.

Me saying I have no problem with hypocrite cheaters being exposed doesnt mean i am ok with them being physically assaulted.....how does that even make any sense? It takes special kind of scumbag to sign to a site like this behind their partners back. Why the fuck would I feel for a guy like Josh Duggar who has made a living on preaching family values.

Some people get kicks by shooting other people in the head, or raping them. "I really wanted to do it" is a meaningless defense to scumbaggery. Tons of people really want to do all kinds of messed-up shit, granted. Welcome to being human. That's pretty much where the conversation begins; it's where we go from there that matters.

For example, we talk about how destructive your actions are to other people. When your actions are extremely destructive, rather than expressing empathy for (for example) how intensely you are attracted to prepubescent boys, we express condemnation of you. Now, this is not to say we shouldn't be empathetic for those suffering from such intense desires (it is actually a terrible tragedy to have such a sexuality, which seems to be relatively hard-wired), but when you act on them and cause great harm to others by it, well, fuck you.

I saw on the news that his wife is blaming herself. Unreal. She must be in absolute denial. She should get a divorce and find a man who won't go off fornicating with other women.
