For months, President Donald Trump has been trying to convince Cindy McCain—a respected voice on refugees and other humanitarian issues and wife of Sen. John McCain, a Trump critic—to join his administration. Now, it’s a “done deal” for both parties, according to two senior administration officials.

After months of being offered—and rejecting—several potential posts in the Trump administration, Cindy McCain and the president came to the agreement of a Washington, D.C.-based ambassador-at-large position, which would focus on anti human trafficking efforts, refugees, and humanitarian-aid matters. The title being kicked around internally is “U.S. ambassador-at-large for human rights,” though that title is subject to change, and it is unclear if a new office within the State Department would be created for her.

“[Trump personally], aggressively courted her for this,” one White House official told The Daily Beast. “It’s a done deal now… The president had floated several positions before—this is the one that stuck.”

One way to gag McCain and thus his little buddy from SC. McCain voted with Trump on everything anyways, but he liked to talk a big game.

This is on top of Newt's wife being named Ambassador to the Vatican, and Mike Huckabee's daughter being Trump's press secretary, and Elaine Chao being Transportation Secretary. Mitt Romney's sister is RNC Chair - Prez usually handpicks chair during their admin.

You conveniently left out the most important wife of a powerful man that Trump has brought on board:

I see nothing wrong here. The lives of migrants, refugees and men and woman involved in sex trafficking are more important than the shitty appearance this has been a cast as.

And Cindy McCain is so uniquely qualified that Trump doggedly wanted her for several different posts she previously declined before specifically creating a DC-based post specifically for her - doesn't matter that John McCain and his little buddy Lindsay Graham are two Senators that sometimes speak out against Trump (even though the vote with him every time).

Yeah, it's gotta be that she is uniquely qualified and not that Trump doesn't want to use her to muzzle criticism from her husband (and daughter).

Trump, when a private citizen, could afford to only surround himself with sycophants. I think the reason the vast majority of his cabinet positions are not filled is because he thinks he can just assemble a small loyal team, and they can take care of the rest. This will not work. He wants to solve the opiod crisis, yet he puts it into the hands of one man, inexperienced, without an apartment to coordinate with.

This way of doing things is going to fuck America up in a lot of small ways.

Cindy McCain has decades of politics experience. Probably should have taken jack savage instead though

More like "Unite the families"...

This is a swampy act.

But the original meaning of it was to remove Washington elites and insiders. Trump did that by filling his cabinet with Generals and Businessmen/women who were not politicians.

But if you got an agenda to irrationally hate Trump 24/7 then you will ignore the truth I just spit.
