First grappling tournament, and why cardio is important.

Cardio is what is called in mathematics a necessary but not a sufficient condition. You need to have it (if you gas in 30 seconds nothing else matters), but having it isn't enough to win - unless your opponent has no cardio, but then again, you're not training to go against guys who get winded going up a flight of stairs, are you?

On the other hand, you can train cardio independently from technique ... run, swim, skip, bike etc when not in class, and work on your technique in class. There's no reason not to have good cardio - which, as you get older, your doctor will tell you in no uncertain terms :D
