is it natural to feel after your first class in luta livre/bjj/wrestling that your whole upper body has been fucking raped?

second class tonight. any recommendations what i can do in the gym today to prepare and not fuck myself up? im thinking maybe a run and just a relaxing sauna/swim.

I usually wanna puke and pass out at the same time after a hard class.

Sometimes if I get caught in the same sub twice in a row I feel like I've been raped, especially if I was told to avoid that position again.

Yeah that is pretty normal. Don't worry you will adjust with time. How is your neck? I remember when I first started my neck was more sore than I realized any muscle possibly could be up untill that point.

Just get enough sleep to let your body recover.

Even if you still feel sore tonight, it just goes to the back of your mind once you're warmed up and in the middle of training. You'll probably feel even worse the next day, having trained when you're not 100% recovered, but your recovery time will get better as you go on.

I am gutted that the biggest advice so far is 'sleep' as we have got a three week old boy who disagrees with you. I got a couple of hours last night, ate a tin of mackrel in peppercorn sauce and some beans on toast today. Going to go for a jog and a relaxing swim and then try and get a couple more hours.

Yeah, my neck is sore buy my chest is killing. Maybe because most of my time rolling I was on the bottom and I was tring to buck up or push people up or away, lacking any real technique.

Still, looking forward to it. Thanks guys.

I would suggest going to a school with a belt system since then they have fundimentals classes that are not so ruff and you will learn the basics so you don't get "raped"

I cleaned up my diet quite a lot lately even though I'm not on a strict eating plan or anything. Plenty of pasta, fish, chicken.

Since starting Muay Thai though I want steak. I want big fucking chunks of meat. And after Luta Livre last night I had pork in some kind of mildly hot sauce and it was fucking awesome.

I feel hungry for steak and heavy meat. I want to try horsemeat after reading about Overeem eating horse.

    Meat = Energy?

It's completely natural, and as long as you continue training it will get a lot better even if you don't sleep or eat right. You're not accustomed to straining a lot of the muscle groups you activate during grappling, and you are probably incredibly inefficient in your use of energy right now. Both will get a lot better just by training.

Absolutely true, your body has to adapt. But the better you eat and sleep, the better your recovery is. Diet is especially important if you have a broken sleep schedule.

I'm unable to train 6 days a week anymore - imo - because I really just can't recover in time. If I slept another 2-3 hours, who knows. Eating well and GPP are all that keep me going at this stage haha

Sleep for sure... but eating well also helps a ton. But in general it's gonna hurt for some time!

Thanks guys. Maybe no class for me tonight due to family situations, which is crap as I have only had one class. If I can do what I need to do tonight and get a good sleep, onwards and upwards tomorrow.

I'll still get to the gym though for a run, etc. just can't go tonight.

They have classes six days a week so getting to at least four of these will be a decent start.
