The first download song thread got me thinking about this.

I bought two on the same day:
Mama Said Knock You Out - LL Cool J
Time to Funk Your Head up - Ultramagnetic MCs

I bought The Cure - Disintegration box set, and The Cult - Sonic Temple.

Bone Thugs N Harmony - Creepin On Ah Come Up. I think it might have been a tape actually lol

Oasis - Whats the story morning glory

Bone Thugs n Harmony's E. 1999 Eternal was the first cd I bought for myself.

Was in 5th grade and got a sweet new Aiwa boombox for my birthday. Used my birthday money to buy:

Mariah Carey - "Butterfly"
Puff Daddy - "No Way Out"
Notorious BIG - "Life After Death"
Spice Girls - "Spice"

I bought 3 when I was in 7th grade I think and was super excited:

Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's
Soundgarden - Down on the Upside
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magik

Madness - Self-titled album (kind of a greatest hits released in the US).

First cd was the randy Rhodes tribute album

I think the first cassette tape I can remember was happily ever after by the cure

Andre Nickatina - Cocaine Raps

Bought a CD player just to listen to it because it wasnt released on cassette

I don't think I've ever bought an actual CD. I don't remember ever buying a digital CD either.

Ironically I thought I didn't remember this, but I thought about it and actually I do.

It was the single for this song. I remember looking at the CD in class in Middle School.

1986 was the year. This was the first CD I ever bought to put in my brand new, $300 Sony single disk player.

The tray door got stuck and I took the player in for repair. The guy who fixed it misplaced my disk (I never replaced it and downloaded the album about 15 years later - I felt I was owed something).

Metallica: And Justice for All

I also seem to remember buying a best of Hendrix maybe even the same day.
