Firas - GSP speaking of fighting winner of Diaz & McG 2...

I love Conor and the passion he lits in you guys.

That said, what a blockbuster would McG vs GSP be!

That said also, GSP will undoubtedly take that.
Please note: I don't mind those fights.
But what about the FW?
If he is aiming to not fight there, relinquish the belt and let Aldo fight Frankie!

Neither of those fights would be competitive. Diaz is good off his back against smaller guys, but we all saw that happened when he fought Stun Gun. It would be the same thing against GSP, but much, much worse.

McGregor would have a speed advantage, but he's just nowhere near big enough to hang with GSP's wrestling. GSP is a legitimate 190-192lbs of muscle with elite wrestling. McGregor is 174 soaking wet in jeans.

So what? He has been off since November of 2013. That almost 2 and a half years. Fighting for the title first fight back would be plain stupid. You might want to think before commenting, you will at least "sound" smarter.

He wants a money fight and a warmup fight, this is the best option.

Move over GSP

There is no excuse for the belt to not be defended, even for 6 months.

Either he defends it or gives it up. It's disrespectful to the entire 145 division.

Lol fighters seeing the chance for an actual payday...

Why do we accept this? GSP coming back to tie up more divisions with a pointless fight. Conor not defending his belt. Conor should of fought Frankie a long time ago.

We used to have rankings that mattered. Fuck the UFC and fuck McGregor for ruining whatever legitimacy we used fo have. Is it any coincidence that the UFC went full WWE and now it is legal in New York? Belator is shit, UFC is shit, WSOF is meh. At least we still have Reebok.

I can't stand Conor but if GSP came back to fight a FW I would root for McGruber. That's lame AF. Lawler or bust.

How about GSP thinks about fighting Lawler and making UFC 200 great! This way we wont get this stupid match up of Diaz/Conor 2

Well Diaz already said hes not gonna fight GSP so i think this is just talk.

I guess GSP wants a tune up match. He ragdolls both of those guys for 5 rounds.

I really hope this is a fucking joke.

After 5+ years of ducking Anderson, now GSP wants to return for a big pay day against SMALLER fighters?

That's pretty fucked up.

Granted, I think he lost to Hendricks so I don't find the WW title to be "disputed" in any way, but I find it a little strange that now GSP would suddenly come back outside of WW - and LIGHTER.

Move over GSP

Thanks for that one... First off, that was an incredibly close fight and TJ could have gotten the win. So it could be said that a warmup fight would have benefited Cruz and given him a more definitive win.

Second Cruz fought in September of 2014 (1 and a half years ago) against a B level fighter with a whopping 28% finish rate. That is still a year less than GSP. On top of that, Cruz is 4 years younger than GSP....

UFC/Conor doesn't want him to defend the belt because then there is the potential he could lose it.

With that 145 strap over his shoulder it makes the Diaz fight and any gifted title shot @ 155 much more palpable to the casual if Conor is a 'Champion'.

If he were to lose to Edgar or Aldo, Conor's stock goes way way down, becuase now he's just a flash-in-the-pan, good fighter. Not the superstar they need him to be.

Lame. GSP going after LW??

There're plenty of good fights, warm-up or not, at WW.

gsp wants fights where he's the heavier man. of course he wants to fight the winner. i couldn't care less about him fighting either guy.

Goddamn you people are dumb. Firas is speaking from strictly a financial perspective. It even says, flat out that he's not interested in chasing and defending the title.

Zahabi also touched upon the notion that St-Pierre may no longer be motivated by championship shots and doesn't want to "start getting into the whole world of defending his title over and over again."

It appears superfights are more appealing to the veteran, something which McGregor or Diaz could potentially present, but much will depend on the outcome of UFC 200, should a rematch go ahead as expected.

Did any of you even read the article? Lol

This is so weird, he's so much bigger than Nate Diaz and Conor.

Its funny how all the Conor fans go from saying Conor could beat up anyone to calling GSP a bully. Thanks to Nate for the reality check, lol.

It would be a big money fight because of the mainstream fans who dont know any better, I am sure we all know here how much of an unfair matchup GSP and Conor would be, even after a long layoff. I actually dont mind Conor and wouldn't want to watch him get violated that bad.

I would say if Georges comes back in top shape, he should be looking for a challenge. The window for the Andy super fight is going to be closed forever soon, I would think that is more likely than a fight with Conor or Nate.
