I can only speak for Sweden (the other Nordic countries are a bit more sane) but IMO the Nordic model is sort of like the inverse of the American dream.

Who could have guessed that you would attract the scum of the Earth by having free welfare, high taxes, high benefits, low wages and low prison sentences?
