Finishing the Nogueira Armbar

The type of one he caught crocop with.

When I'm mounted and guys go for the upa hard, but I slip out a bit and their opposite side arm comes across and I get my leg over and end up on my stomach, with him on his stomach, in the armbar position. I never seem to be able to get it tight enough, and its just a futile effort to finish it, and eventually they get out.

Anyone know of some little tricks here to tighten it up, or to roll them back over and finish it from my back?

It's gotten to the point where people will just bait me with that because it never gets finished, and I'm such a sucker for armbars I go for it every time.

OP, are you rolling gi or no gi? I have trouble finishing this arm bar in no gi because I find the grip to be much harder to really secure if I can't grab a sleeve. You really have to get a good 2 on 1 in my experience, or else the defending grappler will be able to pull out (especially if he is larger). Just my opinion though.
