FINAL vote & opinnion, BEST BJJ SCHOOL IN NEW YORK NYC we talking manhattan baby.

Training experiences will be the best we can get from you!

who wins most competitions per size ( consider school size) this is an opinion.

how is training run? random technique? progression? training method ect...

NYC alliance: good instruction, talent, yet small space (how many high ranking ppl they got?)

Marcelo Garcia: all good here but how many ppl and high ranking ppl they got?

Vitor Shaolin: how good of a teacher is he? how do they do in comp.?

Renzo Gracie: big school many high ranking ppl, could possibly loose yourself

final note: Marcelo and Alliance NYC should create a joint compettition team like brotherhood bjj in south florida where marcelo would teach once a week at alliance and fabio /lucas can teach once a week at marcelo's .... if anyone got the power to talk to both schools, do it!

TS what gym do you train at? Or is this your way of soliciting for opinions on advice to help you decide which gym to join?

Training was great at Shaolin's - especially with Loro.

A guy from my academy in Northern California went to Marcelo's school and not only did he get a chance to train with the man himself. Marcelo worked with him 30 mins after class on the details of his guillotine..

He said Marcelo was super nice and a very good instructor.

How come alliance just don't get a bigger space? I'd imagine it's a big factor in someone's decision for a bjj school once they see it.

Apparently real estate in NYC is expensive. Go figure.

I used to train at a Renzo affilliate and went to New York for a weekend. Let me tell you there maybe alot of people training but the instuctors are top notch and you don't get lost in the crowd.

I have trained at the Renzo Academy. Tons of top notch training partners. I took the morning no gi class that John Danaher usuall teaches you, and my first to matches at the end of class were black belts. Room full of killers. Very high level instruction as well.

What about training method any info? Like at my school it's pretty random no clear progression... How about in them places? At renzolots of upper level is great but does that mean u have 5 teachers and they can't track ur progression like if u get stuck at some point w ur game, ... At Marcelos I worry that he may teach only his game and not all he been taught by alliance... If I trained there I'd want to learn they way he did w Fabio at alliance...

When Marcelo was at Alliance in NYC, it was after he was already a world champ, it wasn't like he learned his game there. I'm sure he's capable of teaching things he doesn't use in his competition game. Then again I'm just speaking from an assumption.

At Renzo's it's the same instructors teaching the same classes regularly, so if you regularly attend the same classes you have the same instructors.

    let's make one then!

Who would win in gi if they were all in their primes? Representatives from all 4 schools.

    1) Vitor Shaolin
    2) Renzo Gracie
    3) Lucas Lepri
    4) Marcelo Garcia

There are many amazing teachers in NYC. My personal preference is Marcelo.

In terms of what he teaches, he teaches both basic and advanced level techniques. However, like he always says, the game he teaches is the game he has found to be most efficient and effective for all people going against top black belts.

If anything, I have found his game to be less physically attribute based than others (although it is sometimes hard to tell when you watch him, as he has so many physical gifts)
