Fights you’re most excited for in the first quarter of 2023?

Volkanovski vs Makhachev by a significant margin.

But there are lots of good fights coming up soon.

Font vs Yanez is technically not taking place in the first quarter.

Here's my list:

Kape vs Perez
Vettori vs Dolidze
Jai vs Ludovit
Assuncao vs Kyler
Neal vs Shavkat
Muniz vs Brendan
Chito vs Cory
Solecki vs Benoit
Yair vs Emmett
Crute vs Menifield
Randy vs Madallena
Craig vs Walker

Volk vs Islam
BW title fight

Dont really care about the rest to call it "excited" about them.

Forgot about the JDM fight with Murphy.

Volk vs Islam is a 9/10 fight. Very interesting and fun fight, even though I’m pretty sure Volk gets washed.

Cejudo vs Sugar would be an 8/10 fight. Very good fight, yet not on the Volk-Islam level.

The rest listed are fight night on Spike level bouts.

Yeah, yeah, yeah its Bellator but these two bouts are really good. All 4 guys could easily be top 10 in the UFC and they're clearly in their primes.

Anatoly Tokov vs Johnny Eblen

Tofiq Musayev vs Alex Shabliy

For UFC big ones are

Volkanovski vs Makhachev, don't expect Volk* to pull it off but it's just feels like the biggest moment of the first quarter to me.

Jack Della vs Randy Brown, Brown might not be a relentless wrestling but he's long, quick, evasive and very kick heavy and pot shot oriented. Super stiff test for Jack and stylistically I feel like Brown has all the tools to frustrate a boxer type stylist.

Shavkat vs Geoff Neal, I just always can't wait to see Shavkat fight, I think he's going to be a champion, a matter of when, not if.

Vettori vs Dolidze is a cracker in Dublin, just two very physical guys and a compelling clash of styles within the UFC top 10. This fight feels high level and relevant.

Chito Vera vs Cory Sandhagen, this ones super interesting. I think both guys have serious question marks next to their chances vs a guy like Cejudo or Aljo as they've shown mediocre guards and defensive wrestling in past but stylistically it's just a captivating striking battle.

Umar Nurmagomedov vs Raoni Barcelos, Raoni is long in the tooth but stylistically he's not someone Umar can bully and those somewhat athletic, physical type fighters with strong wrestling bases have historically given Khabib and Islam trouble so Raoni might be Umars Tibau, I still suspect Umars footwork, range management and kicking will be too much but if we get wrestling exchanges or if Raoni can effectively pressure at punching range it could be really interesting.

McKinney vs Ismael Bonfim, have my eye on this one big time. Struggle to see how Ismael loses since his brother is a similar height and reach to McKinney and a fast handed power puncher but just...better in every way so he's got the right sparring partner. Just an interesting clash of styles, I do worry Ismael is a little small for LW and McKinney is super talented so he might surprise me. Should be fireworks.

Islam-Volk and that's about it. It's like pulling teeth the get the top level guys to fight these days. Been over a year since Nganeau vs Gane fought for the HW title. Neither guy has fought since. Stipe hasn't fought in almost 2 years!. Been a year since Colby and Masvidal fought. Still waiting on the returns of conman and Jon Jones. Cejudo-Sterling would've been cool but apparently Sterling is now hurt. Cejuda vs O'Maley would be funny. There's just too much posturing and complaining and flat-out ducking by the top guys. Everybody thinks they deserve a title shot and more money. The anywhere, anytime mentality is long gone.

Volk vs islam is overrated. Islam wins like he always does. It's not even close

Tatiana Suarez vs Montana De La Rosa on Feb 25.
If Tatiana returns strong, it could have title implications in the not too distant future!
