I was re-watching Dan Severn's fight vs. Anthony Macias from the old UFC days (the one where Macias gets double suplexed), and I realized Dan won the fight without throwing a single strike. Are there any other examples of this in modern MMA?

Why don't you just be straight forward and ask "Hey, anyone know of any boring fights??"

Cannot think of one of the top of my head.
Shinya Aoki may have one ?.
He has some quick submission finishes.

Ronda against Cat?

Can't remember if Vitale threw a strike against Lindland?

Dennis Hallman vs Hughes 2
I think that neither threw a strike.

Commentary on that is great.

"Backflip by Severn!" - "That's just a straight back su-play"
"Not the true technique of a jiu-jitso man". Jiu-jitso lol

I can't think of many fights where no punches are thrown.

Now, I've been in alot of fights with grapplers where by virtue of my punching I negated all of their attempts at grappling, while aiding in their attempts at bleeding from their eyes/nose/mouth.... but that's not what you're asking.

Anthony Macias may have a record.
Didn't Oleg choke him out without throwing a strike?
Two times, that happened to him. If I remember it correctly.

Jens and Ronda were the only 2 I could think of. I'm sure there are a few more out there
