After our homecoming game in high school, some of the players and students ended up going up into the bleachers to fight with kids from the other school.
Nothing much happened except for this one player ended up getting shoved off the side of the top of the bleachers.....and landed on his own mother. She was down for a while but ended up being alright.

The one below is probably the wildest one captured on film. The commentor at the start talking about the two best head butts his seen is actually the number 7 in blue who took on the biggest and baddest player in the game - despite him being the smallest. But the bloke hes referring to giving the headbutts is the 13 in blue. I'm not sure they show it in this clip, but the bloke he butted had two instant black eyes.

It was customary to see at least 1 fight per hockey game. It was literally a part of the game. Now, that beimg said, seeing fights in other sports such as basketball for example was odd and felt wrong at times.

In theory it keeps everyone honest and the fuckery to a minimum. It also revs up fans and teams and can change the momentum of a game. Hockey should encourage it more and other sports should allow it.

I always wondered why hockey players fight. They are basically getting an intentional penalty that can jeopardize their chance of winning a game. Seems pretty dumb.
