Fighting better when emotional? Is Connor one of those?

It can happen, but often doesn't Bisping fights a lot better when pissed off, Cowboy curses the fact he let Nate into his head. No-one even bothered trash talking Fedor because what's the point... Any other fighters come to mind?
Back to topic - Connor is normally highly emotional at weigh in's , Diaz of course is well known for it, but both seem to be on point when the bell rings. Connor's V Aldo suggests the high pressure big moment fights really suit Connor. So maybe even if as Nate says, Connor gets scared like all fighters, he seems to channel it incredibly well. It's the only thing I really admire about Connor. Some fold under pressure, some thrive on it.

How many fucking fights are people going to keep spelling his name wrong?

I can't read. Everything is being transmitted directly to my cortex via Wombats.

I honestly don't think he fights with emotions. No matter how he comes off, and no matter what he says, I honestly think it's all a show, and he has no personal emotions in there once the refs says, "FIGHT!"

Bothers the shit out of me too, but I'm willing to bet you didn't bitch so loudly when everyone on here was spelling Rousey's first name "Rhonda".

So he just has an ability to push all that pressure away via self belief or some other means?

Emo Wandy vs Rampage in PRIDE.

I just think he finds his "Zen", and inner calm right as he's walking to the cage, and everything he's learned, and trained is honed into his brain as soon as the fight starts. All of the hypez trash talk, etc. just goes away at that point.

It's one of his best assets, and attributes as a fighter.

Exactly. I think most people have experienced some kind of 'zen' moment in their life, whether it being a sport, music, art or even a video game. The Universe silences itself and it is just you and the task ahead. I believe this state is referred to as being in the present.

Yep, I liken it to someone like Jimi Hendrix just zoning out, and riffing without thinking. Just in the zone, and doing his thing that he was born to do.

Like when you're doing a show, and you've just jammed out like you've never jammed out before jn practice, bit only in front of thousands of scremaing fans, because that's when you have to be "on".

Yeah man I hear ya! I do a bit of art and my best pics are those where I just zone out and subconsciously do the work. Think too hard and I just get frustrated and don't 'perform'.
