We've seen perhaps more frequently now since the Fox deal began that they have been having more and more fighters do some basic analysis on fights, some winners they've had IMO are:

Gilbert Melendez
Cormier
Chael
Cruz
Rashad to some extent
Stann

Some losers:
Pettis(admittedly he's the only bad one I saw)

Who are some guys you think would make the best and worst commentators/analysts based on their interviews post fight or otherwise?

Chuck wouldn't be a good idea.
I'd like to see Jon Jones give it a try at some point. He is far from one of my favorite fighters but he's opinionated and intelligent. Bisping is the same way.

I always thought Koschek carries himself really well with media and he'd probably say some controversial things as well. I'd love to see him get a shot.

I think Jones' fight IQ would translate well into commentary, as long as he refrains from his somewhat corny sense of humor.

I've seen/heard Joe Lauzon do some commentary and he's not very good at it (to the person who suggested him).

Alan Belcher is surprisingly adept at fight breakdowns.

I would buy a PPV if either of the Diaz bros were commentating. Preferably Nate.

I think Condit, Rockhold or Tate could do a good job too.

Cruize, Mur, Shad, Stann, Condit, DJ, Not Florian, Chael, Cain, and others.

Andrei Arlovski
Ryan Jimmo
Nate Marquardt
Carlos Condit
Brian Ebersole
Jim Miller
Josh Thomson
Urijah Faber

I don't like Jon Jones, but he'd be an excellent commentator

Call me crazy but I think Overeem could probably do great as a commentator.

Eric Koch seems very well spoken in every interview I've seen with him.
