I'd like to hear from some of you who support certain fighters in the UFC who aren't particularly talked about around here. Fighters either you feel could one day be contenders regardless of not being hyped, or just fighters who you like and follow and don't necessarily have a strong fan following. A couple of mine are:

Brad Tavares: 5-1 in the UFC, 10-1 record overall, I believe he's due for a step up and it doesn't seem anyone is really talking about the huge. He's a really big MW, super strong and seems to be constantly improving each time he gets in the octagon. His only loss is to Aaron Simpson, I fight he got very early on in his UFC career and still showed great things despite losing to a really good grinder in Simpson. I think he could break the top 10 one day.

Bobby Green: This one more recently. I was super impressed with his performance against Jacob Volkmann, came back being down two rounds, laid it all on the line and got the finish. He's got a good record at 20-5, 1-0 in the UFC and went 4-1 in the strikeforce. He's fighting Danny Castillo at UFC on FOX 8. Definitely a fight I'm looking forward to.

Dustin Kimura: He's only 24 years old and is a big BW. He's 11-0 with 8 wins by sub and another two by KO, in his first UFC fight with Chico Camus he showed a super advanced sub game and at 24 years old, he's got no where to go but up. I see him having an incredibly bright future.

Who are you guys picking?

Although to be fair I don't think he's necessarily "under the radar" anymore.

I was thinking about putting him down as well, but agreed. I wouldn't call him under the radar anymore.

I thought Kraus looked like shit in his last fight.

John Hathaway was not Kraus' last opponent, his last fight Kraus beat up Mike Stumpf over 3 rounds landing more than twice as many shots. His stand up looked pretty impressive to me in his last fight. Kraus looked much improved from the Hathaway fight, his opponent wasn't as good but he definitely got a lot better.

Not that I support, but I would say Matt Brown.

Again, one can argue if he is under the radar or not, but he still gets relatively low profile opponents although he has 5 wins (4 KO/TKO).

i was gonna say ross pearson but i guess if you've been a tuf coach you are not under the radar anymore. same for matt brown, i've been a fan since his tuf stint.

Tim Means. Might've lost his last fight, but it was competitive, and there's no shame in losing to Jorge Masvidal (who's also severely underrated). Before that, he turned in a great performance against Justin Salas, knocking him out in just over a minute.

Chad Mendes. Maybe its just the opponents the UFC gives him, but the guy has been the #2 FW in the world for years now and he isn't talked about nearly as much as some of the other top FWs.
