I remember I thought Wilson Gouveia was going to make huge splashes in the UFC but was too embarassed to say it. Thank fucks though, as he turned out a disappointment..

Any "dark horses" you guys thought would be good but turned out meh?

edit: fully read the TS, and realized Barboza didn't make sense. Probably Ricci

Kongo is the first who comes to mind. I was certain he was going to be champ. I mean the champ at that time was Tim Sylvia who wasn't exactly looking unbeatable. I didn't really know too much about fighting then as I was relatively new to the sport but from what I could tell, Kongo was a better striker and that didn't leave many options for big Tim in my mind.

Efrain escudero. When he 1st came out and won TUF then 1st round tko'd Cole Miller in his next fight I thought he was gonna be a champ one day( or at least I hoped )he was 12-0 after that. I also liked rooting for him cuz he is Mexican. Then he was gone and has had a sub .500 record ever since

He may still be in with a chance if he gets on a run.

Colton Smith. I was hoping he would wrestle his way to the top of the division. And most TUF fighters. I like watching their personalities just as much as the fights.

I thought Martin Kampmann was the one to beat GSP. I still think it would've been a good matchup.
