Cormier, Frankie Edgar, Travis Browne, Mark Hunt, just off the top of my head.

Shad during and post TUF.

Forrest Griffin when he went on his run to win the title.

Robbie Lawler as of late.

Jamie Varner completley turned my opinion around in his ufc run

Mark Hunt
Robbie Lawler
Gus
Jake Shields
Faber
MM
Browne

Travis Browne - I thought he won't go past Reem.

Stipe Miocic - after his Struve fight I though he'd either try to wrestlefuck Roy or get KOed, and he stood with Nelson and outclassed him.

Alexander Gustafsson - I thought Jones would eat him alive.

Justin Edwards proved me wrong (vs. Neer), big time. I totally counted him out

Gustafsson (specifically against Jones)
Matt Brown to some extent, although I think his match-ups have been slightly favourable
After TUF I really didn't think Steven Siler would bring much to the table at all, but he's been pretty impressive

As much as I hate to admit it, Bisping has done far better than I ever expected. Maybe not elite, but damn good nonetheless.

i have to say i never in a million years thought forrest would have wins over rampage and shogun.

i always liked him and thought hed do well but i though the hendo fight was it,he really is a relentless brit who dont know the meaning of quit! I was surprised by his tenacity to stay near the top of the fight game

Kenny florian. he was so clearly the physically weakest MW on TUF 1. he only fought once (episode 11?), and it was an underwhelming fluke victory over leben. leben kicked his ass, and Kenny took everything that chris threw at him before landing a trademark elbow and winning via cut.

so he made it to the finals. and for those of you who haven't seen diego/Kenny, it looked like a man beating up a kid. I totally dismissed Kenny as this weakling, whose warrior spirit couldn't save him more than once.

the ufc kept him around, and he made a believer out of me. after the diego fight, he went 3-0 and earned a title shot at sherk. those 3 victories were solid (the karelexis fight was a competitive version of leben/Kenny), but each fight was against a striking-based fighter so I still had doubts.

the title fight against sherk really propelled both him and sherk to that elite level, imo. Kenny lost all 5 rounds decisively and was even mounted a few times. but he showed heart and balls in a losing effort. his next run to the title would make a believer out of anybody. he went 6-0 with five finishes, capping off the run with a first-rd rnc over joe daddy, who was a TOP contender himself.

i'm a sherk fan, but I always appreciated that dig at sherk that Kenny made after either his mishima or Alvin robinson fight: "WHO WANTS TO SEE FIGHTS FINISHED AT 155??? I FINISH FIGHTS!" unfortunately, bj finished fights too, but Kenny still proved me and likely a lot of you wrong.

Hendo.

I've started about 4 threads in my entire tenure at Sherdog, and one (circa 2004) was regarding how over-rated Henderson was, how bad he looked winning the UFC tournament, how one-dimensional and boring he was (Decision Dan days).

Then he went on to become a legend of the sport and a total KO artist. Typical.

Mighty Mouse against Joe B, 1st fight I thought Joe B won but the rematch just proved me wrong.

1.mark hunt:i thought he would never be relevant in the UFC
2.HAPA never believed he could smash the war master
3-Hendricks:i thought GSP would have won easily
4-gonzaga -I didnt thinh he could catch so many consecutive Ws
