Royce after beating Shamrock, Fedor after beating Cro-cop, Couture after beating Timmeh, Bork after he beat Carwin, Hendo after he beat Wandy, Silva after he beat Bonnar, Conor after he beat Eddie, MM after he beat Borg, Chuck after he beat Randy, Cyborg whenever she wants, Rhonda after Correira.
 
Anderson after Bonnar.

Fedor after Rodgers.

Aldo after Mendes 2.

Fedor, the string of losses really hurt his legacy. Had he retired before Werdum he would be the unanimous GOAT without any competition near him.
Anderson Silva before getting brutally destroyed by Weidman twice and popping for roids twice. After the multiple losses and extreme roiding, people realized he had been overhyped all along.
Aldo before he got mauled by McGregor then went on to lose 3 out of 4 fights.
Jones before he pissed hot twice.

Not that it would have been a good idea to retire at that time but imagine the mystic and aura of sheer invincibility they would have been remembered by, its crazy what a few losses can do to ones legacy.

For me anderson silva when he was on that crazy run had the most insane god like aura of invincibility iv'e ever felt from any other fighter ever, it was an amazing time to be alive no other fighter came close to having that aura for me.

What other fighters would be looked at today in a completely different light if only that had retired a bit earlier in their career?

At that point in his career Machida had the best striking defense stat in the UFC and one of the best takedown defense stats. Barely lost a round in 15 fights, never in danger, never knocked down, never hurt, never showed weakness (apart from 'casual' marketability). Imagine if he had retired there and then...
