Who are some of your favorite fighters who managed to go on good runs even after their best years were clealry behind them?

I'm going with Matt Hughes as the #1 "past his prime good run" fighter, because of his wins over Matt Serra, and then two finishes in a row against decent fighters in
Renzo Gracie and Ricardo Almeida. That Almedia choke was awesome.

And of course Big Nog, he's still around and a relevant HW. That man is still fucking dangerous! Just submitted Dave Herman. He also KO'd Schaub and UD'd Randy, all well past his prime. You could easily argue that the Herring and Timmeh wins were Nog fighting past his "best-before" date as well.

    Who are your favorites?

Nog. Actually had a good career after PRIDE. If he keeps winning he should pass Fedor as HW G.O.A.T.

I agree, he was losing loads but still being competitive.

Wand hasnt been doing that bad, still beating mid level guys while losing to former champs.

Vitor: 8-3 over the last six years with his only losses coming to p4p elite fighters.

If its a competition, Anderson is the clear winner. But some others include Hendo, Shogun, BJ, Faber, Nogs, Hughes, Mir, Fedor. I'm sure there's plenty more.

You could argue that most of the Pride Fighters have been able to do this and I agree with everyone's choices thus far. If I had to give a number one choice I would go with Big Nog

Randy and Big Nog would be my two top guys. People saying Silva...no. He is still in his prime. Much like Couture, it's just later and longer than most fighters.

I wouldnt say Vitor is past his prime, I think he's fighting at much the same level as he has for the past decade.

Frank Mir comes to mind. Technically Anderson is past his prime and is still VERY relevant! I suppose we would have to define "prime"...

Hughes is certainly very high on the list!
