The perfect answer for this is Brian Caraway.

What would be classified as desplaying confidence? I personaly think coming to a staredown like ian cutelaba doesn't scream confidence, more like you are trying to hide your fears.

Gsp always looked pretty confident to me, he looked his oponents in the eye and didn't flinch.

Huh, GSP never displayed confidence? The walkout, the introduction, the fighting style ooze confidence to me. Are you talking about press conferences or what?

I guess who you pick will also give a sense of what you think being confident is.

GSP was scared out of his mind. He'd tell you that himself, in fact, he believes that was one of the driving factors to his success was his fear of losing.

Thats a pretty hard thing to get a sense of, there aren't many ways a fighter can act to display confidence. He either looks scared ( doesn't look in the other guys eye etc) looks like a steroid junkie on rage ( like cutelaba ) or just looks like the average joe fighter

Sure he was, most if not every fighter is they just don't tell this because its not good media. Still he never acted any different from other fighters on staredowns or the ring

Jon Jones never looked in opponents’ eyes, would you say Jon does not display confidence?

GSP plays the humble role well. But he's confident when he's fighting. You can't fake that type of confidence. He may be nervous leading up to the fight and the pressure it comes with it. But in front of an opponent and in an actual fight he's very confident.

Jose Aldo at every in cage face off

Michael bisping speaks of how much he doubts himself before a fight, but he exudes confidence from what we see

Donald cerrone, he plays very friendly before the fight to calm his nerves and reassure himself they aren’t coming to kill him

That’s interesting, where does Bisping act like that. I’ve always thought he acts like a smug bastard before fights (or you know, in general really).

He's always confident in front of an opponent and during the fight. You can see he never looks scared, he may be scared to lose but he isn't scared of an opponent. He always has that smirk and you know his mind is running like crazy prefight. He's probably visualizing him fighting them behind that smile during the prefight antics. Fighters always try to throw him off and he's always just calm and just smirks/smiles at them when they try to get overly aggressive prefight or talk shit to him. It's a confident smirk/smile.
