Fighters who have tapped to strikes in the UFC

Forgot about shogun tapping to strikes.

Ouch....

I would reckon Shogun's mental health is in better shape than BJ Penn's right now.

Just saying. These guys fight for money. It's was very unlikely Shogun was going to get out of that situation so he saved his brain the extra damage. Smart man; these are not fights to the death.

Over the course of history most MMA fans have agreed that tapping to strikes is the cowards way out. How many times has this happened in the UFC?

I can only think of 2 instances off the top of my head. Fred Ettish and CroCop.
No one who makes the walk is a coward.
It's easy to name-call from the comfort of your computer chair.

I don't agree with this. GSP has tapped to strikes and I for sure wouldn't consider him a coward.

Gsp and shogun ..... also JJ but wasn't valled

Tbf if I saw Mario was reffing my fight I would 100% tap to strikes. I'm not trusting that muppet to not let me get my brain rattled at least 4-5 times after I've already gone out

Charles tapped against Felder, those elbows were brutal. Elbows were Felder's best attribute by far. For some reason they list it as TKO, but if you watch the fight then you'll get it how it ended.

Tapping out to strikes is a tko, likewise getting choked unconscious is a technical submission.

All of your replies are soaked in insecurity over your idol. I said nothing about GSP. No need to get butthurt about reality. Everyone who stepped into the cage in the early days through the golden era held this attitude. The vast majority still do. The fans do. I dont give a shit what they SAY, its about what they DO. And ALL OF THEM give more respect to the guy who doesnt tap than the one who does. High key, low key, whatever. It takes a blackbelt in mental jiu jitsu to turn the tapper into the new archetype or highbar of machismo, and the one thats reluctant to tap into the coward. But thats exactly what youre attempting to do. Shift the culture of MMA and of fundamental facts about reality. I guess youre willing to move heaven and earth for your mancrush. Youre lying to yourself if you think you arent still the minority opinion holder and always will be.

Btw sherdog has an obvious bias against Jones who is the actual GOAT. Objectively. And guess what, he never tapped. Judging by the reaction he gave to Vitor almost ripping his arm off, he never would. Like I said, you want to be spared some CTE or ligament damage fine, I dont blame you, but theres consequences. Like not getting to be the GOAT.
Bruh... are you retarded?

Why tap to strikes like a coward once you know it wasn't your night and you're done, to come back healthy and stronger... when you can refuse to tap, and be like Nam Pham or BJ Penn, and I mean mentally fit and healthy, once you're retired? 🤡😂

You’ve been here 15 years, you’re a grown man still spinning this childish pseudo tough guy narrative? Just sad.

Shogun tapped out to Craig, yes. But not Jones technically, Shogun tapped shortly after the fight was already called off and Jones was walking away.
