list here the fighters that have the guts to jump weight classes without regard to their pristine legacy.

Anderson (took lhw fights that he had nothing to gain from)
Hendo (unreal legacy of weight jumping from mw to hw and always fights the best)
MM (was fighting cruz and other 135 guys a few years ago)
FAber (although he went down a few weight classes he still fought way above his true weight)
Edgar (its crazy to think he fought at lw and was so dominant being so undersized he is amazing)
Mcgregor (the new king with gigantic balls)
BJ (machida at hw, gsp, hughes....then he dominates 155 his true weight class then goes back to 170...then to 145...)
Nate (fights at lw but has fought at 170 before)
Nick (fights at both mw and ww and he is a hugely undersized mw)
Shields (true ww to mw)
Cormier (5'9 true lhw to hw)
Rumble (lhw true weight class to hw)
Benderson will be the next one to push the weight envelope

These guys are all beloved by the fans aside from shields who isnt loved mainly beause his style is hard to digest but he is very well respected for his toughness and fearlessness.

Who else can we add to this list

i purposely excluded smaller hws unless they fought at lhw and jumped up. I know Fedor is always at a huge size disadvantage but hws have a different set of circumstances than the other weight classes, thats a discussion for another thread.

Nick Diaz- Beat Gomi at 160, fought Anderson at 185, natural WW but went to 180/183/185 down to 160 (I think even 155) (oops, he was on your list...)

He's a moneyweight fighter.

Also, Anderson started at 168 and fought for a large portion of his career at welterweight.

Sakuraba- probably should have been a WW all along but fought WAY bigger guys in PrideFC at 205 and HW

Minowaman - MW, LHW HW

Joe "Diesel" Riggs - Started at HW, went down to 170

Kenny was 185 on TUF, fought in the UFC at 185, 170, 155, 145
Diego Sanchez - same as Kenny

Babalu - HW/LHW/MW

King Mo- calls himself a "money weight" fighter - HW/LHW/MW

VItor - HW/OW LHW FW MW SuperRumblewight

RUMBLE!!!!! 170 177 187 205 HW and one of the few who went UP

Bj penn fought machida at Hw and he's a fw now. That's the most impressive imo. Joe Riggs fought at Hw iirc, but I think that was him out of shape, so he worked himself down to 170.

Gegard Mousasi----went up to 205 and won title...

Went up to heavyweight in kickboxing and destroyed mushasi and then fought heavyweight champ kyotaro and dominated him,.

Fought OPEN WEIGHT vs. Mark Hunt and dusted him inside one minute(arm bar)

Fearlessly? interesting spin you put on it since 90 % of the time they change weight classes because they can no longer make that weight like dustin poirier or have tried a run at the belt and failed like dustin poirier and Faber and tried somewhere else.

I just have one question about this "Mcgregor (the new king with gigantic balls)" Ummm has he even fought at another weight class I am just curious if you know what makes moving up and down so difficult and its not moving up in weight its the move back down and he has not even fought in the ww division yet he will tomorrow but you make it sound like he has already won and defended his belt at 145.

That's like saying Conor has nothing to gain from fighting Nate.

You also forgot Florian....145, 155, 170 and 185.

Although, I personally have more respect to guys that go up in weight to fight.....rather than keep dropping and dropping classes.

Yes he has. He started at 155 then moved down to 145.
Some how moving back up is bad ass.

Anderson made the trip from 168 -205. Was champion at 168 and 185 and defended titles.
Wake me up when Conort does that

was going to post a picture of Hendricks or Ronda...but I am better than that

No I'm not.

Wanderlei Silva

Should have been a 185'er his whole career but fought at 205 and also fought a few HWs like Cro Cop twice, Mark Hunt, Kazyuki Fujita, and I think his match with Dirty Bob was also at HW.

Toughest SOB I have ever seen along with Big Nog and Sakuraba.

Agree, but you gotta be concerned about the long term health of all 3 of them.
