- [August 10, 2003] Rampage Jackson SD Murilo Bustamante (PRIDE Total Elimination 2003) - this one is more iffy, especially considering the decision, following Nog's loss there wasn't much of a consensus. Fedor, Wanderlei and Hughes had the strongest cases; Barnett, Pequeno, Tito, and Liddell had weaker cases. Gomi on the outside.

^ Fedor was recognized as the p4p best for a long time and obviously wasn't beaten. Circa '09 onwards, GSP and Anderson were being ranking as the p4p #1 more often. There seemed to be a consensus circa 2013 that Anderson was the p4p best, though there were some who had Bones in that spot.

- [July 6, 2013] Chris Weidman KO Anderson Silva (UFC 162)

For the next period following GSP's retirement, almost everyone had either Aldo or Bones as the p4p #1. Bones following the off-cage issues and inactivity was removed from the rankings and suspended [late April 2015]. From there Aldo was generally accepted as the p4p #1.

- [December 12, 2015] Conor McGregor KO Jose Aldo (UFC 194)

Silva beat Sakurai in 2001 and Sakurai was considered to be #1 p4p

TJ Dillashaw beat the #1 P4P Renan Barao according to Dana White.

I would argue Jon Jones was P4P best, not Aldo.

Cruz by defeating Demetrious ... not a "fair" fight tho imo

Did Fedor lose his pound-for-pound status before losing to Werdum?

Their fight was in August. Tito was seen by the majority as the #1 at that time from the summer, circa June on. Mach was in the running, but Wand, Saku and Coleman were seen at least as high prolly more so.

Pretty dope post dude. I thought Fedor was ranked number one before the Werdum fight.

TS came, saw, conquered his own thread. Lets wrap it up here guys.

Was Fedor not #1 when he was submitted by Werdum?

Most rankings I have, have either GSP or Anderson as the p4p #1 in 09/10. Some even had Aldo over Fedor at that time frame. But at that point Fedor lost his unanimous p4p #1 title he held for a very long time (with arguments for select few fighters like Shogun as the p4p #1 in 05, which was still the minority however).
