Fighters who are betting disasters

Not that good? LOL
Winning a lot of fights against elite competition. Being huge underdog against champions and taking their titles.
Being one of the UFC world champions.
Not that good.
Sure, sure
nope. not anymore. he's been totally exposed with his striking defense. he ain't beating anyone top ten anymore without a serious overhaul of his game (like AA did, or something similar).

Werdum:
-650 JDS
-185 Stipe
-210 Volkov
-325 Oleinik. Oleinik ruins his reliability really, but it's not the same Werdum we know...

But he also is a great underdog:
+200 Gonzaga
+163 Vera
+405 Fedor
+190 Browne 1
+400 Cain
And the icing on the cake: +420 KOing Hunt ( usually I don't dig that deep but had to check...)
It's crazy how he was +400 vs Cain.
Sea level or not, Werdum is a difficult matchup for Cain.

Btw, this is a useful thread, thanks, but where do you get those odds from?

Let's talk about fighters who are biggest failures when it comes to betting on them.
I'm talking about fighters who repeatedly lost when they were huge favorites.

Let's start with: Alistair Overeem.
-475 vs Antonio Silva
-350 vs Ben Rothwell
-170 vs Travis Browne
Even vs Stipe Miocic (big deal not to be underdog when you're a title challenger).

Yushin Okami:
-276 vs Chael Sonnen
-450 vs Tim Boetsch
-450 vs David Branch
-175 vs Jon Fitch

Travis Browne:
-205 vs Antonio Silva
-230 vs Werdum 1
-450 vs Arlovski
-275 vs Oleinik

Arlovski:
-415 vs Sylvia 2
-285 vs Sylvia 3
-475 v Brett Rogers
-183 vs Bigfoot
-280 vs Tybura

Melvin Guillard:
-193 vs Clementi
-525 vs Lauzon
-145 vs Varner
-350 vs Girtz
-280 vs Campos

UPDATE:

Benson:
-225 vs Pettis 1
-600 vs RDA LOLLLLLLLL
-135 vs Cowboy .... well, got robbed too
-300 vs Koreshkov muahahaha
-205 vs Patricky

FKL:
-600 Santos
-345 Iaquinta 2 (was underdog in their first fight BTW)
-155 RDA
-145 do Bronx

Gegard:
-212 vs Mo
-475 vs embarrassing Jardine draw
-525 vs Hall
-550 vs Lovato

Pettis:
-225 Bartimus
-240 Guida
-500 RDA
-365 Alvarez (could go either way honestly, I scored a draw)
-180 Edson
-125 Nate

Sara McMann (5 losses):
-185 Miesha Tate
-300 Amanda Nunes
-220 Ketlen Vieira
-180 Marion Reneau

Scoggins
-345 Motoya
-650 Sasaki
-275 Moraga
-400 Ortiz

Manhoef:
-200 Robbie
-600 Mizuno
-250 Brock Larson
-165 Schilling

And the KING:
Menace:
-180 vs Sasssangle
-255 vs Jury
-290 vs Madadi
-145 vs Dariush (robbery BTW)
-400 vs Nate, mothafucka
-155 vs Gaethje
-200 vs Elkins
-125 vs Emmett
-260 vs Stevie Ray
-110 vs Moises

Anyone else?

Good thread TS

I add Lawler to the mix even if IDK the odds but: manages to loose to that weird choke after beating the living shit of Askren.
Should have beaten Colby but went on strike and threw like 3 weak punches the whole fight.

He said in the interview: "I see most of you idiots think I've lost to Shlemenko. Just to piss you off, I'll never give him a rematch"

I hope the next time someone interviews him, they ask "Are you ever going to avenge your loss to Shlemenko?"

I'm sure his response would be hilarious.

FKL is a superb candidate too. Inconsistent AF.

Yeah, because no one noticed that before, everyone is stupid and it's so easy to beat him
::facepalm:: Damn, you watch MMA for so long, how miraculous your hindsight 20/20, wow

He will laugh. He's a big troll

Tapology.

Overeem? Top tier skills but terrible chin/defense. All it takes is one punch

Dan Henderson

WTF are you talking about? He's THE fighter to bet on!!

-355 Shields
Other than that, ALL his losses were when he was an underdog.
An opposite of disaster. Reliable fighter.

On the other hand:
+215 vs Wanderlei 2
+235 vs Fedor
+130 vs Shogun 1
+125 vs Shogun 2
+160 vs Boetsch hahahah
+270 vs Lombard

Tapology.

Thanks. With this, I was able to check on Cro Cop. He was favourite vs Nog, Hunt, Gonzaga, Kongo, and, extremely likely, Randleman 1 (especially considering he was favourite even vs Kevin 2).

Well, makes sense actually. Randleman 1 was a big fluke
Well, CC did have a habit of throwing high kicks without setting them up with his punches.
And he was leaving the right side of his head exposed when throwing LHK.
Someone would eventually capitalise on that.
It turned out that Randleman and Schaub were the ones to do it.
Wouldn't really call that a fluke.

I DID bet on the Shields fight so assumed it was a trend lol

Screw you for besmirching Jardine like that.

Jardine might not have been the most gracefull or athletic guy but he was tough as nails, strong as an ox for 205, and enjoyed a good scrap.

He was a tough tough fight for anyone and he was noticeably bigger then Gegard.

Embarrassing draw my ass, especially with Gegards typical low workrate back then. notorious for coasting and giving away rounds 2/3.

I like Jardine too, but back when he landed in Strikeforce he was outstruck by Hamill and Prangley...and Mousasi was NOT a low workrate back then...
