Fighters that have submitted more than one Black Belt?

Sakuraba anyone?

i was just about to say, how the hell has no one mentioned him? thats the first name that popped into my head. his submission win in the ufc was one of the first submission victories over a bjj black belt

Rumina Sato - John Lewis, Ricardo Botelho, Raphael Cordeiro*

belts go out the window when your gettinm hit in the face a lot of the time

Thales Leites - Matt Horwich, Pele Landi-Jons

I hate the fact that it took 2 pages to mention this guy, who should be the paradigm of submitting guys with black belts:

Kazushi Sakuraba - Gilles Arsene*, Shannon Rich*, Marcus Silveira, Royler & Renzo Gracie
Carlos Newton - Jose Pele*, Pat Miletich*, Eric Paulson*
Matt Lindland - Travis Lutter, Fabio Leopoldo

saku also submitted newton and other skilled ground fighters like masakatsu funaki and minowa

and imanari also submitted abell cullum (not a bjj guy but still pretty good on the ground) and maede

Like 50+ people have submitted "BJJ black belt" Shannon Ritch....it isn't even an accomplishment at this point.

BJ penn submitted KenFlo with his own signature move. That was pretty badass.

Aren't all of BJ's submission wins in MMA by RNC also (beat Duane Ludwig by Arm Triangle I believe).

Interesting -- looks like a lot of MMA BBs weren't prepared for leglocks, which makes sense because they're illegal in a bunch of grappling tournaments. I know Palhares and Imanari are leglock specialists, and IIRC Aoki got hellboy with a leglock.

Many BJJ practitioners does not focus on leg locks like that. Not just because they are illegal, but because they just don't see it with the same respect as a upperbody submission.

Almost like Boxers not practicing a spinning back fist.

It's not a MMA match, but theres Ricco Rodriguez submitting Big Nog with a leg lock in a grappling match.
