Are there fighters that represent their own self as oppose to their gyms or teams?

I am not saying that they do not have coaches but rather the coaches teach them and they facilitate everything else similar to Floyd.

In Canadian boxing, you have to be part of a gym while I am not sure for kickboxing or MMA. I think the first MMA fighter was the guy who had the Gangster from Oregon.

Reem did that for a while, not sure if he still do. Glover too. Maybe Cowboy after his JacksonWink days? Idk. Not exactly sure whats up with the BMF ranch but it sure looks badass

I feel like most people who do this end up eventually forming their own gym around themselves and then representing their gym.

figuriedo until recently I thought did his own thing.
Johnny hendricks i thought did his own thing too

Brock and he won the UFCs HW title doing so, with relative ease too

Josh Thomson trained with him a few times, but also confirmed that he barely trained.

Fack, the BJ Penn airport thread is gone.

He also eats hot dogs and drinks beer.
