I was thinking recently it seems quite often that a good fighter who has generally been dominant and beaten many will eventually find a "nemesis" (sorry couldn't think of better word)

Their "match" who somehow has got their game.

Some examples,
sakuraba for the Gracie's
Pettis for benson
Cain for jds
Weidman for Anderson

Please give more examples and give me your theory why this phenomenon happens, cos it's not like the "nemesis" does a one off like when gsp got knocked out by serra.
The nemesis only counts if he has beaten a dominant fighter more than once

Wand for Saku

Fedor for Big Nog

Hallman for Hughes

Edgar/Penn and Weidman/Silva do involve old guys winding down...

Yeah can totally see SOME about young replacing old but some seems about somehow one has somehow got the game of the other, I can't really explain it cos they don't seem lucky wins, and the one beaten by the "nemesis" is usually really dominant over everyone else
