Is it just me or have been fighters making a lot more money recently? It seems like the fighter pay that's being disclosed these days has gone way way up. Diaz was making $30/30 when he fought RDA and now he's a millionaire off one fight! Right around the time that McGregor came into the UFC (not saying he's the cause of this) was when I started to notice this. I think the first big deal I remember hearing about was Gilbert Melendez getting a sweet deal even though he was coming off a loss to henderson, got a bunch of money and immediate title shot.

Anyone else noticing this? Or can anyone explain why so many guys are getting paid more now?

I've noticed that the mid tier guys have been making more. Gunnar made 40,000 more in the Maia fight than he did in the Thatch fight (5 months apart,) and he got beat the fuck down by Maia.

I started noticing the increase in the top heavy fighters after the first Anderson Silva loss to Weidmen where he got a disclosed $800.000,00. After that I realized fighters like Jones was getting $400.000,00, Lyoto was getting $250.000,00, Overeem was getting $300.000,00. All this was 2-3 years before the McGregor boom. But this was only for the top heay marketable fighters. People like Nate, Rory, and Barao were getting buttons, despite being high caliber fighters.

Fighter pay has been going up.
It was going up before Conor.
Also people are finally realizing that the AC reports are not full pay.
Also Diaz received a nice signing bonus so his per bout salary was lower than it normally would be.
