Is anyone else mildly annoyed that they try to push the "sob story" angle on every fighter?
That being said the war vet tearing up on last episode got me.
Lastly Hardy has a "YOLO" tattoo.

They're often cringeworthy. I have a rough background myself, single parent family, poverty, all that good stuff, but for some reason the whole, "my dad is in prison and my mom worked two jobs" story doesn't really do much for me. Lots of people have a parent who isn't around much, works a lot, travels for work, is deployed in the military, is dead, whatever. It's just not a very impressive, life-altering type of experience.

Or "I fought a lot as a kid, and now this keeps me out of trouble and out of gangs." That's annoying. Go read a book or two, you delusional fuck. Fighting isn't a path to riches for many. These are the same undisciplined, annoying morons who couldn't put in even a half-assed effort to play the game of school back in the day, thought it was cool to fuck off, refused to work or join the military, knocked up three chicks, and now want to act like the world owes something to them.

I tend to root against those guys. Except that dude from Cleveland, because he cracks me up.

I'd be dead or in jail without this! Fighting saved my life!

Seemed like every single fighter had a sob story of some sort.

With that said, when I see a fighter near tears talking about the death of his parents/siblings.... I must say that it does make me root for them. Their sob stories worked on me I guess, well done UFC marketing team.

YOLO is just Carpe Diem for idiots.

It's also grammatically incorrect as it splits the infinitive. It should actually be "You live only once".

    Or YLOO.

I think it fine in the intros

...However after the fight when they are still pushing the emotional angle in the interview is a bit much, they don't seem to let it go until the fighter is in tears.

Every fighter hitting that tire in front of the PI is getting old too.
